Dear PetConnect Rescue Family,

Spring is coming and just like clock work, so are the unwanted puppies and kittens. Each year at this time, the shelters are inundated with these baby animals found in abandonded buildings, on the side of the road, under a porch or in a box outside the shelter.
Without the PetConnect Rescue family, these little ones may not survive. Please keep these precious lives in mind when you read below about our Save1Life Program and our new Yappy Hour Series. Funds raised by these programs will help the animals most in need.

Katrina Puppy Update!
Hurricane Katrina puppy update? What year is this? That's right, we reconnected with one of the originals brought up after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Kane was only 4 months old when he made the arduous journey from New Orleans to Maryland. This gentleman is now 13 years young and while he's dealing with some older dog heart issues, he's still bringing joy to all those around him.
Pam, his owner, is one of the original rescuers from that era. As she says, Kane "is a wonderful dog; my companion, my protector, my buddy, my bed warmer. I could go on and on. I'm so glad I brought him home that day. I wouldn't have him if it wasn't for PetConnect. Thank you for sending me. Thank you for my Kane."

Smokey is still in foster care but despite a few set backs (stubborn infection) he is recovering nicely from his surgery and is no longer in pain. We know his forever home will come through soon. Thank you again for helping us meet the needs of our foster animals.
We never want to have to say "no" and with your help, we didn't have to.
