Our Weekly Blast!

Our team of eight parishioners from St. Timothy's will be leaving in three months from now, and we really need your help. The need in the Bwindi Region overall, with the Batwa tribe and at the Bwindi Community Hospital is significant. What follows is a needs list of items we would like to take with us, focusing on the school children and on the mothers in the Maternity area who have just delivered.

Needs:
  • Scarves - handmade or store bought - the brighter the colors the better (Approx. 50-60)
  • Classic crocs - men, women & children in assorted sizes & colors - no sizes larger than a man's 10 (Approx. 50)
  • Book bags - being made by our sewing ministry with bible verses on them
  • School supplies: 20-30 packages of pencils and ball point pens, hand pencil sharpeners, medium sized spiral notebooks and composition notebooks (standard ruled lined paper)
  • Deflated soccer balls, inexpensive hand air pumps with needles, and jump ropes
  • Nightgowns - lightweight and long (for women in maternity ward) (Qty. 25)
  • "Momma packs" for women who have just delivered (Qty. 40 complete packs
    • Lightweight reusable cloth-type grocery bag with handles containing:
      • Newborn diapers loose (not in box but in ziplocks)
      • Sanitary pads for the mothers
      • Two (2) flat packages of baby wipes
      • Isopropyl alcohol prep pads for umbilical cord cleaning
      • Two (2) lightweight receiving blankets
There is a collection table set up in the Hallway in which to drop off items and ask questions.
