The late UU minister John Wolf expressed some of the reasons why we would want to support a Unitarian Universalist congregation:

 

You want to support it because it has a free pulpit. Because you can hear ideas expressed there which could cost any other minister his or her job. You want to support it because it is a place where children can come without being saddled with guilt or terrified of some 'celestial peeping-tom,' where they can learn that religion is for joy, for comfort, for gratitude and love...You want to support a Unitarian Universalist church because it is more concerned with human beings than with dogmas. Because it searches for the holy, rather than dwelling on the depraved...You want to support a Unitarian Universalist church because it can laugh...You want to support it because it insults neither your intelligence nor your conscience, and because it calls you to worship what is truly worthy of your sacrifice.   

 

For these and so many other reasons, we who enjoy the great heritage of religious liberalism need to support our religious communities as generously as we can, so that we can continue to care for and serve our members, educate our children, sustain vital and healthy congregations that embody our Unitarian Universalist values, and serve the larger community.

 

This Sunday, April 8^th, you are invited to be our guest as we host a brunch in Fellowship Hall immediately after the service. Each table will have a canvasser present who will conduct a conversation at the table about the congregation, and the canvassers will accept pledge forms from members and pledging friends if you are ready to make your annual pledge. Those who miss the brunch or who do not make their pledges at the table on Sunday will be contacted soon after the brunch.

 

Please consider making your annual contribution a generous one, to support the programs, activities and values of this congregation as it enters a new phase in its ongoing congregational life. Thank you in advance for your support.

This is the time of year when all members and pledging friends express their commitment to our beloved community. We need your support for our community to thrive and to be able to provide programs, ministry and social action.  Please bring the Pledge form and EFT form that were mailed to you to UUCM this Sunday. If you need to be reminded what your pledge is for this year, envelopes with the pledge total will be available.  We will gather at the round tables during service. A steward will be at each table.

 At the end of the service there will be a brunch. The steward will engage people at his/her table in their opinions on what they like about UUCM and what they would like to change. After the discussion everyone will be asked to make a pledge for the coming year starting on July 1, 2018. If you want to have funds transferred from your checking account, bring a cancelled check or fill in the routing number on the EFT form prior to arriving at UUCM. New Website Going Live Soon!

UUCM has a new website! Using a well-designed and tested template provided by the UUA, we have created a new website to support our communications to both the outside world and among our members and friends. We expect the new site to replace the old one before the end of April. So if you go to   uumarin.org  in a few weeks and see something completely different, you're in the right place!
