Pedal Patter July 2018
by Bob Bernstein

I hope that this finds you all enjoying the pleasures of your wheeled, human powered conveyances regardless of the number of wheels; regardless whether you are leaning forward, sitting upright, or sitting back; regardless of whether you are wearing spandex or a tee shirt and jeans.

How many of you use Groupons? This is where you pay an amount of money to buy a coupon to save even more on a product or service. For instance, you may spend $10 on a Groupon for a restaurant to save $20 off your bill. Sounds like a great deal, doesn’t it? Of course it is when you know that you are going to buy that product or go to that restaurant.  Your Club membership is like a Groupon.  Let me explain....

Back Roads Century in Shepherdstown Offers Biking and Much More!
by Sallie Williams, VP - Century

If you can do only one ride with Potomac Pedalers this year, make it the Back Roads Century , September 15–16. PPTC’s premier annual event draws both members and people new to the club, many of whom travel hundreds of miles to participate.

But why does Shepherdstown draw visitors from around the globe?

$25 OFF
the BRC
We’re providing a $25 rebate on the registration fee (payable after the event) to volunteers.
Fill out the Volunteer Form or contact Paul Huey-Burns.
As any club member appreciates, we need a full complement of volunteers to host a successful event.  We especially need reliable people to oversee the rest stops. We realize this is a big “ask,” as those serving in this capacity would not be able to ride on Sunday. It would be best if PPTC members who might be willing to forego riding on Sunday (or who can’t ride on Sunday for another reason, such as an injury) filled these roles, but non-riding family members or others who might be sharing the weekend in Shepherdstown also would be good candidates.

(Note— we have plenty of road marshals, so that particular assignment is not on the “push” list.).
Tailwind Nutrition Sponsors BRC
The Back Roads Century is thrilled to announce Tailwind Nutrition as the 2018 endurance fuel sponsor! The slogan of Tailwind is “All you need, all day, really,” and those in the club who use this product already will attest that this product has worked for them...

Proud to wear our jersey!

Potomac Pedalers are recognized all over the US. Well that's my fantasy. For the second time I wore a Club jersey to a large cycling event and was recognized.
