Student Programs hosts
Read Across America
Families filled the Multi-Purpose Room to celebrate Read Across America on Friday, March 3. This event promotes literacy on Dr. Seus's birthday. Guests enjoyed book readings, free ice cream, cupcake decorating, a photo booth, and many games.

Let's Get Rid of Diversity!"
Nearly 100 people gathered on
Wednesday, March 1 for an open forum on race and ethnicity hosted by Title IX Coordinator and Diversity Officer Edward Derr
. Panelists included Acting Director of Financial Aid Kenneth M. Briggs, Professor of Anthropology and Music William O'Hare, and Professor of English and Interdisciplinary Studies Frederick-Douglass Knowles II. After each spoke of growing up in varied environments, the discussion opened to take questions and stories from students in the audience.

acknowledges the contributions that women in business, education, entrepreneurship, entertainment and service have made to their communities.

Professional Women's Leadership Forum
The Second Annual Professional Women's Leadership Forum took place on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, and the number of organizations that worked together to produce the forum is a
testament
to its importance. It was hosted by t
he ConnCAS Program of TRCC, Sankofa Education and Leadership, Inc., TRCC Title IX Office of Diversity, TRCC Equity and Diversity Committee, the TRCC Social Justice Club, and the TRCC Active Minds Club.
This event, which celebrated and explored women in leadership, honored women from Three Rivers and the community with achievement awards. It also featured a panel, moderated by event founder Edward Derr, that spoke to the underlying reasons that the Women's March resonated with millions.

"A Dream Realized" Raises Over $40,000 -
Three Rivers College Foundation hosted "A Dream Realized," a sold-out, fundraising dinner held on Friday, March 10, 2017, that raised over $40,000 for the foundation. The evening was filled with recognition and celebration of President Emeritus Grace Sawyer Jones. More than 160 guests witnessed the dedication of a lecture hall to Dr. Jones as well as the announcement of a new scholarship fund in her name, endowed by the Adventures in Lifelong Learning.
