PROPOSED STATE OF ARIZONA TEACHER WALKOUT
BEGINNING THURSDAY, APRIL 26TH
|
As you may have heard through Scottsdale Unified School District communication and/or Mrs. Slover's Weekend Message (sent on 4.20.18 via email), 78% of Arizona teachers voted to walkout beginning on Thursday, April 26th. Additional communication from SUSD and CRS will be forthcoming as more information becomes available.
In the meantime, Copper Ridge School administration is actively preparing for any potential impact on testing, school events and field trips. Mrs. Slover understands there are many questions and will communicate specific plans just as soon as possible. The SUSD website and social media will be updated regularly, and feel free to reach out anytime with questions by emailing
lstollarslover@susd.org
or calling (480) 484-1400.
If you would like more information about the movement then please visit Arizona Educators United on Facebook or
arizonaeducatorsunited.com
to better understand the movement, the demands, and why teachers are walking-out.
Please note: Many community organizations and businesses are preparing to help with the potential walkout and may be offering options for your child(ren) such as camps, activities and programs if school is not in session. Should you need assistance or an activity then we suggest you check with your local gym, kids club or organization for more information.
