MCC together in spirit
COVID-19 has impacted all of us and we must remember to support each other. We continue to prepare to move education online and are really looking forward to starting E-Learning on March 30. It is an understatement to say how grateful we are for the devotion and efforts of our faculty and staff, the patience of our parent community and the enthusiasm of our students. Together, we will help MCC move forward.community.

Events
This challenging environment requires us to cancel all co-curricular activities both on-campus and off-campus until at least April 15, 2020. Senior parents, we know this is a particularly challenging time for your students as there are many events they anticipate. We will provide more information on this as we get closer to April 15.

Faculty and Staff
Since most of our faculty and staff will work remotely in the coming weeks, we recommend that you contact us via email so we can provide a timely response.

Updates and Resources
We will continue regular communication via email, The Buzz, social media, and our website. We have added a link to our homepage called “E-Learning Updates”. Click here to visit our resource page where we will post each community communication, answer frequently asked questions and provide tips for families and students to help the transition to E-Learning.

Thank You
We cannot say this enough, “thank you for partnering with us in your children’s education; thank you for trusting us with this very special mission.” Living our Franciscan Virtues -- humility, integrity, generosity, and inclusivity – has never been more important than it is now in these challenging times.
That's a wrap on another successful Gala!
The 2020 Green & Gold Gala was a tremendous success! We appreciate the support of our entire MCC community. Thanks to our Gala Committee, and the countless volunteers who made it all possible. So much work went into planning and running the event, and the results showed. It was an amazing evening with plenty of good food, entertainment, and precious time with friends.

MCC garners top DAR honors
Dalton Haire, Armon Kermani and Mr. Reese were honored by our local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution on March 14. Dalton was presented the Good Citizen Award which is given to only one senior each year. Armon won 1st place in the American History essay contest and Mr. Reese was recognized as an Outstanding Teacher of American History. Congratulations Hustlers!
National winner announced for Scholastic contest
Congratulations to Maddie Henry for winning the Scholastic PSA Contest for Creative Safety Ideas! Students nationwide in grades 6–12 were challenged to create a storyboard or script to help promote the importance of all passengers wearing a seat belt while in a vehicle. Our very own Maddie was selected as the one and only Grand Prize winner! She has won $1,000 plus a trip in to NYC to film the PSA—which will be featured on the TV show Teen Kids News. We are so proud of you!
MCC Guidance team here for you
This is a time of change and with that comes the potential for stress. Although we are not together on campus, we are accessible to your needs and working to serve you. We have regular school working hours of 7:45 AM- 3:45 PM. Each week we will send out a Check-In survey to all of our students. This is a great way for us to assess our students' needs. Based on the answers we will respond with outreach services. Your family will receive a weekly newsletter with topics tailored to the needs of our students. Parents, add your areas of interest/need on your student’s survey or email us directly. ZOOM will be our format for virtual meetings. We are teaming up with Campus Ministry to provide online social opportunities. Stay tuned!
Deepening our relationship with God
On March 11, MCC celebrated a Lenten Penance Service. Thirteen of our local priests visited the campus to join our students and staff in prayer and reflection. During his homily, Fr. Jeremiah of St. Joseph Catholic Church encouraged our students to be the best version of themselves and deepen their relationship with Christ through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Feeding the hungry
While at the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen prior to spring break, this group prepared 250 brown bag lunches so they could be distributed to Daily Bread neighbors. Nice job, Hustlers!
Hustlers go remote
MCC Emerging Scholars are back to school with online Florida Tech classes this week. It’s exciting for our students to be a part of these live sessions with the entire class in attendance.
Stingers finish season strong
On March 7, Stingers attended their season-ending competition at the MA Dance Florida State Championship held at Seminole High School. Stingers were awarded the Super Sweepstakes Trophy for receiving a superior rating of above 90 in all three of their routines. They also earned a 1st Place finish in the Varsity Small Select Contemporary division. Way to go, Stingers!
