A. One of our overall statewide goals is to RESTORE Florida's appropriation investments in 2019 to fully fund the Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs (DCA)
matching-grants.
How can this information be used as an advocacy and educational tool with candidates and those already elected?
|
|
|
Restoring Florida's investment in its arts, arts education, and culture funding and forward-thinking policies begins with you, your board members, staff, family, friends, patrons, etc. We must all as individuals and as a collective engage in large and focused numbers in this year's elections NOW, throughout this summer, early fall, and until the 2018
elections are
over.

F. Review and discuss the DRAFT of the 2018 Florida Legislative
Candidates' Survey -- your suggestions for revisions and the best way to use it as an educational advocacy tool?
G.
Share your ideas to engage more advocates in this year's elections to reach out to incumbents, those already elected, and new candidates about our funding and policy issues.
H. Step up the vote and make sure you and others are
registered to vote this year:
Primary Election: August 28, 2018
General Election: November 6, 2018
It's a numbers' game -- we need to recruit and engage
many advocates to communicate with candidates and incumbents
during this 2018 election cycle about our issues using the
(1) candidates' survey;
(2) gubernatorial platform;
(3) county-by-county 2018-2019 DCA status report;
(4) 3 key talking points -- which points do you think matter? and
(5) more face-to-face time with candidates and incumbents.
The Advocacy Task Force will meet and develop its 2018
-2019 statewide advocacy plan that we'll review on our June 25 statewide call. You will have an opportunity to give your input before
we finalize it as our plan of action.
Additional 2018 election materials and information
will be organized for you based upon your county and will be posted
soon at
www.FLCA.net
for your use to engage in this year's elections.
