Over the years I have heard this quote expressed in many ways. I'm sure you have too.
All of us have failed at something. Football teams do not win all of the games they play. Politicians do not win all elections. Students do not get all As. Children fall down many times before they walk.
If we don't try, we will never succeed. Like baseball, it is the batting average, hitting th ball more than striking out.
When things get difficult, refuse to quit. Learn from those failures. Try again and again as necessary using what you learned to finally succeed.
