GROW SPIRITUALLY
Faith and Film: War, Loss and the Gold Star Children Join Rev. Tim on Thursday, July 19 [Morning Session (10 am - noon) or Thursday Evening Session: (7 pm - 9 pm)] to watch and discuss Gold Star Children, a documentary film about child survivors of war casualties, written and directed by Mitty Griffis Mirrer, a gold star child herself. The film is a first-person narrative told through the eyes of a nine-year-old girl, who lost her father in the Iraq war, and the adult-children survivors of the Vietnam War. We'll then discuss the intertwined realities we all face-love, loss, and grief-that are complicated by issues of war and the American culture of violence. Registration is required. Childcare is available. Call or email Katie Hymans at (559) 322-6146 or [email protected]

UU Humanists . "Pacifism for Peace and Justice, a History". Conscientious objection. Antiwar demonstrations. Outlawing war with international treaties. Non-violent direct action for justice. How do these interrelate? All are welcome on July 15 in the Youth Room. Noon potluck, come with or without food. 12:30 discussion with Devin Carroll. Contact Devin, [email protected] , 559-240-5127.

Join Rev. Tim and explore your spiritual life from a Unitarian Universalist perspective. A multi-sensory experience, we'll open our hearts to the Spirit of Life and deepen our connection to self, others, and how we make meaning. Tuesday, August 21 and 28, 10am-12noon OR 7-9pm. To register and/or request childcare, contact Katie Hymans at [email protected] or 322.6146 x12 or register online at uufresno.org/home/adult-re/
