BUILDING BRIDGES TO NEW COMMUNITIES
Dear Members and Friends of YANA:
"When like-minded, mission-driven people work together, great things happen."
YANA was founded on this principle, and it remains the driving force behind our work today as we endeavor to build an inclusive community that engages all who are committed to advancing social change. This intention is the foundation upon which many collaborations and partnerships are developing within the Yale social impact community - and beyond.

YANA ACROSS THE GLOBE

MEMBERSHIP WITH YANA & HELPING US GROW
2 out of 3 Yale alumni are involved in the nonprofit and social enterprise sectors. That's 110,000+ alums who are executive directors, practitioners, board members, donors, or volunteers.
We envision a global community that engages
all
alumni and friends of Yale in advancing social change.
A five-time winner of the Yale Board of Governors Award since our founding in 2011, we have grown into a network of over 3,000 -- with 8 chapters on 3 continents: the Bay Area, Colorado, Europe, India, New England, New York, Seattle, and Washington DC.
Working together. Giving back. Changing lives.
YANA is entirely volunteer-led; and we rely on the generosity of our members and those who believe in social good to support our inspiring programs.

YANA-DWIGHT HALL SUMMER
FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM ENTERS SECOND YEAR
Currently in its second year, the YANA-Dwight Hall Summer Fellowship Program supports Yale undergraduates pursuing nonprofit fellowships. This program is designed to complement the
Domestic Summer Award Fellowships,
announced in 2017 by Yale College Dean, Marvin Chun. This summer,
YANA has provided funding to
2 members of the Class of 2018 to grow Go South, a nonprofit they founded as students.
Go South provides Ivy League students with an exciting, financially viable - and clear way to pursue work in the South - supporting nonprofits in their vital work and expanding Yale students' perspectives and life options in the South. Read more about this year's fellows.

INAUGURAL PURPOSE-DRIVEN CAREERS WORKSHOP
|
|
YANA Members
Rachel Littman
,
Richard Reiss
, and
Steve Carlson
met with members of the senior society Quorum on April 15 at Silliman College for bagels and a discussion on how to maintain, or pursue, purpose and focus on social impact while launching a career, often in the private sector. Students shared their goals, aspirations
and
questions about life after graduation. YANA members shared their own career path stories and offered advice. Both groups came away with a desire to continue the conversation and make this kind of careers workshop an annual (or even more frequent!) event. Keep your eyes out for the amazing members of the Class of 2018 as they join the Yale alumni community in a few months!
