#CAEP18 Advocacy Workshop Results
Thank you to the 25+ individuals who attended and presented at the #caep18 Advocacy Workshop. The workshop was held to determine CAEP's advocacy priorities and strategies for the next 12 months.

At the conclusion of the meeting the attendees voted on the priorities with the following results:
  1. Opioids
  2. Equity for vulnerable groups
  3. Health human resources
  4. Economic impact of overcrowding
  5. Universal access to dental care
  6. Violence in the Emergency Department
  7. Access to air ambulances
  8. Regionalization of care (to be included under health human resources)
  9. Injury prevention
  10. Marijuana and driving safety

Quebec ends 'cruel' air ambulance policy of
separating kids from parents.

CAEP member Dr. Samir Shaheen-Hussain has been advocating for many months to keep Inuit children together with their parents when being transported by air ambulance. His #aHand2Hold campaign was successful in ending this practice that has been in place for decades.
