In this webinar, participants will learn how to apply the successful strategies used during the war on soda and junk food, and apply them to increase access to healthy, plant-based foods. It will address the following learning objectives:
- Identify 5 common reasons why schools don't provide healthier food.
- Recognize the influence of Big Ag and the impact of the USDA's current commodities program on the National School Lunch Program.
- Identify which key players can help facilitate an increase in healthy plant-based foods at schools.
- Learn how to develop a sound school nutrition policy to help reduce obesity and type 2 diabetes and understand the process for passage.
