Limud Tisha B'Av and Hebrew Fest
Sunday, July 22nd 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

Join Haz/Rab Rachel, Shlicha Ayelet and guest Shaliach Itzik Sayag  as we delve into Jeremiah's dramatic prophecy which parallels the devastating portrayal of the destruction of Jerusalem in the book of Lamentations, traditionally read at this time.  These ancient texts come to life before our eyes as we consider the real challenges we face today.  We will explore the history and modern struggle for peaceful coexistence in the heart of Jerusalem's holiest sites.  All are welcome.

Support for Our Refugee Family
Our Adat Shalom team of volunteers continues to work with the Amiris, a wonderful family of 6 who moved to our area from Afghanistan last year. They have obtained U.S. permanent residency and are working hard to stabilize their lives here. They have jobs (though they're working hard to identify better ones that pay more), are learning English nicely, and are making friends (besides us). The family is now ready to move into a more suitable rental home.

We will assist the family in making the transition to a new rental home through a combination of Social Action Fund and Clergy Discretionary Fund dollars. If you would like to support this important new chapter for the Amiri family, you are welcome to contribute to the Clergy's Discretionary Fund(s).  Click here to go directly to our website form for donations --  and please include a notation that your contribution is to support the Amiri family! If you prefer to send a check, please make it payable to Adat Shalom and include a similar notation (i.e., Clergy Discretionary Fund - Amiri Family) in the check's memo line.

The entire volunteer team, in addition to the Amiri family, thank you for your kindness, generosity of spirit, and financial assistance in this time of need!
