Stay Home. Save Lives.
Colorado’s Stay at Home Order
Effective Thursday, March 26, at 6 a.m. through April 11.
- Stay Home for all but necessary business.
- EX: grocery store, pharmacy, picking up take-out food.
- You can still take walks and hikes, as long as you stay six feet from all non-household members.
- Critical businesses are exempt but must comply with social distancing (six feet from the nearest person.)
- Critical businesses are outlined in the public health order. Examples are medical providers, pharmacies, food banks, utilities, some manufacturing, mail, auto repair, warehouse distribution, and banks.

Broomfield COVID-19 Cases
- Broomfield currently has 10 cases under investigation, compared to 8 cases listed on the state public health website. Colorado Dept of Public Health numbers are updated once per day while Broomfield Public Health officials ensure rapid response to new cases by monitoring reporting systems throughout the day.
- Key Message: Operate under the assumption COVID-19 is widespread in our community. Self-isolate if you have COVID-19 type symptoms (fever, cough, and shortness of breath). There is no reason to go to hospitals unless you need urgent/emergent care (for instance, if you experience severe respiratory issues or difficulty breathing). - The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has recently published a Symptom Checker on their website. This is an interactive tool to help the public determine if they are having symptoms related to COVID-19 and how they should proceed. This has also been added to BroomfieldHealth.org.

Broomfield’s City Council will convene as the Board of Health again next Tuesday, March 31 to review and discuss a draft of last night’s proposed public health emergency order that would suspend oil & gas operations at the Livingston Pad during the COVID-19 emergency.

Business Update
Economic Vitality is completing a review and an analysis of the CARES Act (S.3548), the federal COVID-19 outbreak aid bill. If passed, this act will provide support and resources for Broomfield, its residents and businesses.

City News
- The Economic Vitality team is working to assist local food pantries (such as FISH) to be able to purchase needed food, in bulk quantities, to meet the food access challenges by contacting metro grocery key managers to encourage continued needed food access.
- The Summer Program guide is arriving in mailboxes shortly or available online here. Due to the City and County of Broomfield’s closure of non-essential services, registration for all summer 2020 programs will be delayed until April 23 for residents and April 30 for non-residents. - CDPHE announced today that it is suspending the state’s vehicle emission testing in response to the ongoing COVID-19 response and Governor Polis’ declaration of a statewide stay-at-home order. The order applies to emissions testing for both gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles.

Stay at Home Activities
- Residents can still enjoy Broomfield’s open space, trails and parks during the stay at home order as long as it’s alone or with immediate household members.
- While you’re out, make nature observations on iNaturalist! You can take a picture of any plant, animal, or other living thing, and post it on Broomfield’s iNaturalist page. If you don’t know the name of the species you’re posting, then iNaturalist users can help identify it for you. As spring starts to emerge this is a great tool to combine learning and outdoor time! - Donate Money:
- Cash donations can be made to the Broomfield Community Foundation in care of “Disaster Relief Fund” at BroomfieldFoundation.org.
- Broomfield FISH is accepting food donations but prefers CASH donations so they can buy in bulk. Website has donation information.
- Donate Items: A Precious Child is accepting household items, including cleaning supplies and hygiene items. Website has donation information.
