Call Your Senators to Request Emergency Funding for VITA!
Good morning, Advocates -

Thank you for all that you are doing to support our community.

In addition to advocating for critical support for the charitable sector, United Way Worldwide is advocating for additional supports for communities including funding for 211 and Emergency Food and Shelter Program, cash support for individuals, and expansion of Earned Income Tax Credit/Child Tax Credit.

UWW joined with national partners to advocate and get an extension of the tax filing deadline to July 15, 2020 . We appreciate the efforts of our elected officials who are working to provide economic relief.

Yesterday, UWW joined national partners, including Prosperity Now, to call for additional funding for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). Please see below for how to make you voice heard.

Call Your Senators to Request Emergency Funding for VITA!
Senate Republicans are considering an emergency funding package to provide economic relief to organizations and individuals hit hardest by COVID-19 disruptions. Now is the time to make the case for additional Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program funding! Take a moment to call your Senators and request $60 million in emergency funding for VITA in 2020.

This funding will implement an aggressive outreach and education program and provide a one-time emergency increase to VITA programs to help them alert non-filers to the requirements to file for the payment.

Click here to take action through Prosperity Now . If this is your first time taking action through Prosperity Now, please enter your contact information so that we can locate your Senators. The script will then appear, and all you have to do is click "Call."

Thank you!
