New Laboratory in Commerce City

Colorado Analytical Laboratories, Inc. broke ground on a new state-of-the-art laboratory at 10411 Heinz Way in the Mountain View Industrial Park area. The nearly $3 million, 12,500 square foot laboratory is expected to employ 25 people before the end of April. The company provides business-to-business services and conducts analyses of drinking water, wastewater, soil, and biosolids for land applications. Colorado Analytical Laboratory is certified by the Colorado Department of Health and Environment to analyze drinking water for organic and inorganic contaminants, nitrate and nitrite, cyanide, fluoride and coliform bacteria. The family-owned company prides itself on its support to long-term employees and delivering accurate and timely analytical results to its clients.

City Recognizes Seven Companies for Contributing to its Economic Vitality

Commerce City recognized seven businesses for contributing to its economic vitality at its annual Business Appreciation Awards Breakfast. This year's event took place on  March 21 at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center and was themed "Redesigning the Future."

Awards are divided into five categories, including the Business of the Year award:

The awards breakfast featured Keynote Speaker and Director of Strategic Partnerships at 505Design, James McCandless.

Regional Event to Highlight Nexus Development

The Metro North Chamber of Commerce will highlight three development projects in Adams County at its Hot Projects Event (formerly known as the State of the Region Event). The projects include Nexus at DIA (which is a 223-acre business park located on the north-west corner of E. 81st Avenue and Tower Road), Parterre, and Karl's Farm. The event will take place on April 11 at the Doubletree Hotel located at 83 E. 120th Avenue from 7 - 10:30 a.m.

Representatives from Commerce City and the Nexus at DIA development team will discuss the public/private working partnerships that made the business park and the Tower Road Corridor a prime opportunity for development in the Denver Metropolitan Area. The panel will discuss special district formations, transportation, infrastructure planning, and improvements. Other topics will include an agreement with Denver Water, a one percent dedicated sales tax increase campaign for infrastructure, the 1A campaign (which brings new competition and development interest to the Aerotropolis region), marketing efforts and a new on-ramp at Peña Boulevard. Reach Customers Online with Google

The next workshop in the Commerce City Small Business Workshop Series will be held on how to reach customers online with Google. A Google trainer will teach attendees how to promote their online presence. Workshop attendees will learn best practices for creating a free Google My Business listing, improving their website's visibility in Google's organic search results, and advertising on Google. The workshop will be held on April 18 at the Eagle Point Recreation Center from 8-10 a.m. Learn more information and register.
Retail Corner

Little Pub Company, a Colorado-based company with over 20 restaurant and bar concepts across the Denver Metropolitan Area, announced the name of its newest restaurant planned for the northeast corner of E. 104th Avenue and Chambers Road in the new Second Creek Marketplace development. Statehouse 38 will be a 5,500 square-foot restaurant and bar that will hire locally and serve American-style food for lunch and dinner seven days a week. It will feature an outside patio with a fire pit, and a bocce ball court. 


City Waives Development Fees for New Full-Service Restaurants


Commerce City is offering another advantage to restaurants looking to do business in the city and serve a rapidly growing population. City Council recently passed Resolution 2019-29, waiving certain development-related fees for new free-standing, restaurants providing full table-service. The aim of the resolution is to help attract new restaurants to improve the quality of life for city residents, create new employment opportunities, and attract other commercial development in the city as part of the "Ready for Retail" campaign. The city is looking for development partners to provide retail services to its rapidly growing areas in both the historic city and the northern range.
