Weekly News For
Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church

This Sunday

This Sunday we welcome to the pulpit the Rev. Ron Peri preaching "CAN YOU REALLY TRUST THE BIBLE?" based on the passage from   2 Timothy 3:14-17.

Ron grew up in Madison, New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. After college, he joined IBM in systems and marketing of mainframe computers. While there, he met Ingrid Erklev, to whom he was married in 1969. Ingrid came to the Lord the next year and was instrumental in leading Ron to the Lord therafter.

In 1975, he left IBM to pursue full time ministry, graduating Summa Cum Laudae from Biblical Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity and was ordained to the Christian ministry shortly thereafter. Ron served as a pastor at Warrington (Pennsylvania) Fellowship Church while in seminary and afterwards as senior pastor of Evangel Baptist Church in Springfield, NJ until 1985.

Seeking to emulate the model of Paul, he left to minister outside the church and started a consulting business, Computer Support of North America, to provide income for his ministries. CSNA grew and was acquired in 1991. In 1993, Ron founded Radixx International, Inc. which provides reservations systems to over forty airlines on five continents. In 2016, the firm was acquired by TA Associates, a major private equity firm. Ron now serves as Board Chairman.

Ron speaks extensively to bible studies, churches, and other groups. He is particularly active with ministries reaching businessmen. In 1981, he participated in starting a new interdenominational seminary in New Jersey (the first in NJ in 140 years), Regional Seminary of the Northeast. Ron was president of Regional Seminary from 1981 until 1989.

Ron and his wife Ingrid live in Windermere, Florida, where they have resided since moving to Florida in 1996. They have been married for 48 years and have four children and ten grandchildren.

When Meeting at the Church

This Summer when the weather is hot and muggy please remember a few important items to keep our costs down.

Do not prop open the doors to the outside for extended periods of time. If you are the last person to leave a room please turn the lights off and A/C up to 80°. The Church Fellowship Room door leading to the bathroom hallway should be kept closed at all times. Besides being a fire door, it keeps the A/C in the Fellowship Room. Also please make sure all doors are locked if you are the last person to leave the building. Please do not assume someone else will do it for you.

During July and August the cleaning company is only here once a week.  Please do not leave food in the trash cans without the bags being tied. While we do want to attract visitors to the church, we do not want to attract the wrong kind of visitors.

Worship with Communion begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by the picnic under the Pavilion. We ask that you sign up to bring either an Appetizer, Salad or Dessert. You can email Kerry at [email protected] and let her know how many and what you will bring or look for the yellow sign up sheet in the Narthex.
