Summer Book Adventures
June 1 - July 31 (Registration ENDS July 23)
The Broomfield Library offers Summer Book Adventures for ALL ages - children, teens, and adults!  The last day to register is Monday, July 23 and the last day to turn in logs and get prizes is Tuesday, July 31. Print the log for your age group from our website.
Registration REQUIRED.

FREE Summer Films
Tuesdays, July 3 - July 24, 7 p.m. - Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Join us in the Broomfield Auditorium for free summer films! Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children under 13 must be accompanied by someone 13 or older.

inventHQ Open Hours - Create in the Makerspace!
Tuesday, July 10, 4 - 7 p.m.

Drop in during these times to see the makerspace in action and learn about upcoming programs! Check in with staff to use computers for design projects (as available), sewing machines, vinyl cutters, small electronics, and more!

Music Making Party
Wednesday, July 11, 6 - 7 p.m.
Looking to make some noise? Create homemade instruments and then get ready to shake, rattle, and roll as we use our instruments to play along with fun music! For the whole family, but small pieces may be hazardous for children under 3.
Drop-in (NO registration). Pick up a FREE ticket at the Children's Desk beginning 30 minutes before the program.

Colorado 14ers: Intro to Conquering Them
Thursday, July 12, 7 - 8 p.m.
Learn what you need to know before you climb a 14er! This presentation by local experts from Jax Mercantile will include information on helpful supplies and clothing to bring with you, as well as the skill levels required for some of the more popular hikes. For ages 15+.

inventHQ Pop-Up at the Discovery Lab
Wednesday, July 18, 1 - 4 p.m.
inventHQ is taking over the Discovery Lab for an afternoon at the Broomfield Library! Drop by and you'll get to screen print one of our designs on fabric or you can bring a t-shirt, tote bag, or dish towel of your own to screen print. All ages welcome.

Early Literacy Fair (FREE!)
Saturday, July 21, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Visit the library to play and learn with your kids! Experience fun, hands-on early literacy activities you can replicate at home to help prepare your child for school and life. Each participating child will receive a free book, courtesy of Bal Swan Children's Center. The Early Literacy Fair is presented by If Not You, Who? ¡Incluye actividades en Español! For ages newborn-5 years with attending adult.

Let's Talk: You In Nature
Saturday, July 28, 1 - 4 p.m.
Gain a broader understanding of the human experience! In this session, equine therapist Pam Thode will give a live horse demo and discuss how her trainings support mental health. Then, Kelley Rawlsky will lead a horticulture therapy exercise and discuss the role of horticulture in mental health. For ages 13+.

August
During the month of August, Children's Library staff will be busy preparing great Fall programs. At that time, you can check the library website for information on Fall 2018 children's programs!

Young Makers Guild: Iron-On Patch
Tuesday, August 7, 12 - 1:30 p.m.
Join the Young Makers Guild and learn how to make an iron-on patch for your backpack or jean jacket. You can stitch your name or favorite word and add a border using designs stored on our digital embroidery machines. For ages 5-8.

What Did You Say You Do? Interesting Jobs Forum
Thursday, August 9, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
You don't have to be tied to a cubicle doing TPS reports! Come engage with a scintillating panel of people with unusual jobs. You'll leave with a new perspective on what work is. For ages 15+.
