As we continue down our “Road to 100”, three more cheers - for the all the committee work that goes into ensuring wholesome AGC gatherings and jaunts for the season.  It’s no wonder we’ve already such a good turnout.  And how about this sunshine?  We just ceased chanting, “Norman, Nancy, not so fancy, why doesn’t your garden grow?"

JUNE MEETING IS TOMORROW - JUNE 19
Pruning Workshop at East Branch Organics in Keene
Horticulture Committee with Heather Coffin

At the pruning workshop, Heather Coffin of East Branch Organics will lead the discussion of how and when to prune all of the shrubs most commonly present in our gardens. She will have some slides for demonstration. Heather will also walk around the property and look at some varieties. There will be plenty of time for questions. The Horticulture Committee gave Heather a list of the shrubs/trees/plantings in general we wanted her to discuss.

Place:  East Branch Organics / Route 73 / Keene, NY

           10:00 am        Business Meeting
           11:00 am        Program – Pruning Workshop
           12:30 pm        Lunch – Bring your own sandwich.

Route 73 to Keene, NY.  Entrance just north of Stewart’s. A tent will be provided. Program will be rain or shine!

This meeting begins our celebration of AGC’s 90 th Anniversary and it is also our Conservation Meeting. It is open to the public and guests are welcome! We are fortunate to welcome Curt Stager as our guest speaker.

Did you know the climbing hydrangea is one of the plants for next year's PX? See the article in this month's issue of e-GCA newsletter. Hydrangeas can be grown from a cutting or by layering.
Meredith Hanna will kindly give anyone a cutting who would like to try it.

Zone III Plant Exchange 2019
The subject matter for the 2019 plant exchange has been selected and includes plants which tolerate moist or wet conditions. The plants can be trees, shrubs, vines, or perennials and must have been propagated by you and this means we need to start this year. For questions, please contact  Airlie Lennon.
