Arts in Our Schools Month Recap

March was a very busy month for arts education across the state and all of us at Arts Ed NJ were happy to assist many of the groups across the state to promote arts education and the ARTS ED NOW Campaign. Here are some highlights:

• 1,200 ARTS ED NOW Gear packets with all new materials were distributed to all attendees at the New Jersey Music Educators Convention

• Youth Arts Month County and State Festivals featured the ARTS ED NOW Campaign

• County TEEN Arts Festivals showcased the ARTS ED NOW Campaign

• Dozens of schools across the state highlighted ARTS ED NOW in their own schools through dance, music, theatre and visual arts events and through social media

• New Jersey School Boards Association, New Jersey Association of School Administrators, and the New Jersey Education Association all ran feature stories on arts education in their magazines

Arts Ed NJ sent out an ARTS ED FACT each day of the month via social media and also coordinated local and statewide media coverage including:

This was the first time efforts were coordinated between groups for a statewide focus. We had some excellent successes and we learned a lot about how we may approach this effort for 2019. If you have any ideas we want to hear from you!

Excited and enthusiastic students are invited to take part in building an interactive

About the I Can’t… I Have Rehearsal :

For a select few, the high school musical is sacred. Every year, these students come together for the Tony Awards of New Jersey high school musical theatre: The Rising Star Awards. But first, they have to get their shows off the ground. I CAN’T… I HAVE REHEARSAL follows six very different high schools from across New Jersey as they rehearse, perform, and compete with the very same supercalifragilistic show!
