AB 1672 (Bloom), CASA’s sponsored bill on flushable and non-flushable product labeling, will be heard on Tuesday, April 9
th
in the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee. After the first hearing it will be then be heard on April 23
rd
in the Assembly Judiciary Committee.
We are urging members to send letters of support to
both of
these committees as soon as possible
. This is your opportunity to tell your legislators about problems you have experienced with wet wipes at your agency, and why you support AB 1672.
It is extremely important for legislators to hear this message from their local districts. We encourage you to also send copies of your agencies’ outreach materials on wipes (if you have them), and to share pictures and stories about your agency’s experience with wipes problems in your letters as well. We are also encouraging agencies to get active on this issue on social media. Make sure to tag @CASA_CleanWater on Twitter and use #WipesClogPipes in your posts!
