Patients often experience remarkable results with just a few needles!
Welcome to NAI!
Dear Prospective Student,

The Neuro-Acupuncture Institute is pleased to present the

Comprehensive Training in Neuroacupuncture Program (CTNP)
Level I

Neuroacupuncture is in demand. If you wish you could do more to help patients with seriously debilitating central nervous system conditions, you will benefit from attending this course and from the expertise of many teachers on the subjects of neuroacupuncture, scalp acupuncture, neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and more.

By adding expertise in the field of neuroacupuncture to your practice, you will be prepared to do more to improve the lives of patients who suffer from neurological disorders, such as stroke, Parkinson's, PTSD, Autism, complex regional pain syndrome, and more.

Neuroacupuncture is a highly effective technique, synthesizing the best of modern and traditional Chinese Medicine with a medical understanding of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Patients often experience remarkable results with just a few needles.

Presented as a three-day, in person training (21 CEUs), we invite you to embark upon a journey of education, to join a growing community of practitioners, and to evolve your practice by learning the art of neuroacupuncture. As a student, you will receive one-on-one guidance and supervision from our world-class professors, teachers, and trained staff.

We look forward to welcoming you to the NAI network of integrative medicine experts, teachers, and practitioners and hope to see you in August!

The Certification Program in Neuroacupuncture
In the West, where acupuncture itself is considered a "specialty" by the medical mainstream, a full certification course in a legitimate specialty within acupuncture is a truly rare opportunity. It is a well-known statistic that specialist practices have longer waiting lists and receive far more referrals than general practitioners.

Medical professionals as well as the general public have small means by which they can distinguish what one acupuncturist can provide compared to another. Having a specialty allows acupuncturists to develop expertise in a specific area, to excel at what they treat, to rise above their peers and stand out in the public eye. They have more presence in their community because people can more easily understand and associate the specialist with specific health conditions. Now, for the first time anywhere, a full certification course in the emerging specialty of Neuroacupuncture is being offered to acupuncturists.

The specialty of Neuroacupuncture excels at treating all manner of neuological conditions. Among the most commonly seen in clinic are:

  • Stroke
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Paralysis
  • PTSD
  • Autism
  • Aphasia
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Phantom Pain
  • Complex Regional Pain
  • Restless Leg Syndrome
  • Balance Issues

Students will receive tools essential for practicing Nueroacupuncture:
  • Eye Charts
  • Reflex Hammers
  • Eye Exam Pen Lights
  • Tape Measure

Supplies are provided for training purposes including:
  • Needles
  • Cotton Balls
  • Alcohol
  • Practice Models

Recommended Reading
Chinese Scalp Acupuncture, by Drs. Jason and Linda Hao, is the primary textbook for the Comprehensive Training in Neuroacupuncture. We highly recommend reading this book as preparation for the course.

The information found in Chinese Scalp Acupuncture could make a difference in the life of a patient when no other therapies will help. The authors, who have a combined 60 years of experience using Chinese scalp acupuncture, have given us a true gift: a thorough clinic manual for learning this amazing tool for patients who suffer from seriously debilitating conditions.

Planning for the Future
Three levels of training are required to achieve certification in Neuroacupuncture. Levels II and III are intensive, five-day, hands-on workshops taught by experts in varying subject matter.

Students must successfully complete each level in sequence to qualify for the next level.
Level II Training
Level II explores advanced scalp acupuncture techniques, including in-depth discussion about assessment and treatment of neurological disorders involving actual brain damage, such as stroke and traumatic brain injury. More qi cultivation techniques will be introduced as well as modules in nutrition for the nervous system and case report writing and analysis.
Level III Training
Level III focuses on body acupuncture techniques and how to optimize them with scalp and other point systems for neurological conditions. Discussions, demonstrations, and practice about the evaluation and treatment of neurological conditions including autism, cerebral palsy, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and PTSD, among others, will be a major part of the Level III training. Advanced acupuncture techniques and advanced balance method techniques integrated with the latest emerging discoveries in neuroscience will be explored, including a full day of clinical treatments by the students, plus qi cultivation practice. The training will conclude with a mini workshop on the treatment of at least three specific neurological disorders.
