FAREWELL TO OUR LEADER
Over the past six years, Mike Dyer, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has led the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce to new programmatic and membership / sponsorship heights. These accomplishments and successes are a testament to his capabilities as an effective leader and an engaging person. As Mike moves into his retirement, a fitting and symbolic tribute can only be summarized through a warm, heartfelt “THANK YOU” from the business and chamber community.
Mike strengthened the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce through his tenuous leadership and his commitment to success of businesses. Mike made a positive impact on the careers of countless chamber members and staffers. The following results only begin to highlight those successes:

-Implemented the Total Resource Campaign, a grassroots marketing effort, effectively increasing revenue and enhancing program development.

- Increased membership numbers each year.

-Advocated the forward movement for the relocation of the Chamber to the heart of downtown, to be more accessible to the community and our fellow community partners in business.

-Launched the Young Entrepreneurs Academy and the Young Professionals Network.

-Secured the financial stability of the Chamber.

We owe Mike a tremendous debt of gratitude for being our president, the CEO, a visionary, a confident leader, and most of all… our friend. The Chamber has created a CEO search committee to find the “right” leader to continue the forward movement and upward trajectory of the chamber and one that will continue to advance the success of business within Macon-Bibb County and the Greater Macon Area.

Replacing a president and CEO will be no easy task. The search committee remains focused on finding the next leader for the chamber that will continue to amplify the voices and successes of our businesses and communities
