Inside this Staff News:
  • We've chosen a bond architect and, yada yada yada, he's good.
  • Which celebrity chef is about to turn Bethel into Flavortown?
  • What's old is new again: We're bringing back the Etch A Sketch!
(Pictured above: We already have the most environmentally-friendly buses in the state, and now we're getting the most technologically advanced buses as well. Next year we will introduce an entire fleet of hoverbuses.)

Bethel iPads to be replaced by Etch A Sketches
Bethel will soon be switching from iPads to Etch A Sketches once the prior devices are paid off.

"Touch screens, apps and cloud-based solutions are things of the present," said a staff member who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity. "If we want to move forward, we have to look to our past. The Etch A Sketch is the tablet of the future ... and the past, I suppose."

While concerns have been raised about students' work being erased when the devices are placed into backpacks, our Technology Department is hard at work on a cold storage system that will help slow down the erasing process so students can continue their work at home.
 Attention Staff:
New Klingon Dual Language Class to debut in 2020
Klingon has been selected as the next language to get the Dual Immersion treatment after the wildly successful Spanish program at Thompson Elementary.

"We feel the Klingon alphabet will spark kids brains in new ways, especially at the kindergarten level," said a staff member who wished to remain anonymous.

However, other staff members were not as enthused about the decision. "I find this all very illogical," said one.

While Klingon has been selected, it was a close contest with the first runner up, Elvish, losing by just a few votes. One thing that pushed Klingon over the edge was Klingon being recently added to the Duolingo language learning app.

Ode to the Grey Box

Is it grey or gray?
It depends on the day.
And what will we find when we look?

A story without a picture,
words in a mixture,
certainly shorter than a book.

Is it important? Who can say?
But read it anyway,
If you don't that's a choice that you choose.

But at the end of the day
If you turn your eyes away,
You'll miss what was in the Staff News.

Bethel gets a new cook!

Pack your bags, Bethel community, because you just earned yourself a one-way trip to Flavortown!

As of next week, celebrity chef Guy Fieri will be the new executive cook in the Child Nutrition Department.

Fieri plans on implementing an ambitious "all deep fried" menu.

Vandelay Industries named architectural firm for all bond projects
Vandelay Industries has been selected as the new architectural firm for all of the 2019 bond projects, narrowly beating out Kramerica Industries in a heated bidding war.

Senior architect Art Vandelay will spearhead all work for our three news schools, including the new Bethel High School.

Vandelay's work can be seen in New York City, as he is credited with the new addition to the Guggenheim, a project that he says didn't take very long.

Vandelay previously worked as a latex salesman and an  importer- exporter.
Happy April Fools' Day
