Dear Suffolk Student,

You are receiving this email because you may meet the  eligibility requirements  (Apply for a Degree) to participate in the 2019 Commencement exercises.

I am writing to invite you to apply to give congratulatory remarks to your classmates or sing the National Anthem at Commencement.

To be eligible to submit an application to be the student speaker or singer, you must have completed all of your degree requirements (including Incomplete grades) by May 10, 2019. (September petitioners are not eligible to participate in this process) and you must be in good academic and disciplinary standing. You must be willing to work closely with the SBS or CAS Dean's Office to refine and practice your speech or with the Performing Arts Office to practice the National Anthem. Student speakers and singers will be expected to attend a sound check/rehearsal at the Rockland Trust Bank Pavilion on May 18. Lastly, you should be willing and able to represent your graduating class at a dinner on the evening of May 18, the day before Commencement, with the University President, Board of Trustees, administrators, and donors. Remarks are limited to 3-4 minutes.
