3.  Email the Supervisors and the Mayor

April 2019

CHA Residents,

Thank you to those that attended and for all your emails to the SF Planning Commission opposing SB 50 - they were heard.  The Planning Department is now doing further analysis on the impacts of SB 50 in light of the detailed concerns expressed by the public.  There were approximately 100 residents at the hearing and nearly 85% stated their opposition; and the others who support SB 50 were primarily from the  YIMBY organization who are the original authors of the legislation.

What's Next ...
San Francisco Resolution Opposing SB 50

"Resolution opposing California State Senate Bill No. 50, authored by Senator Scott Wiener, which would undermine community participation in planning for the well-being of the environment and the public good, prevent the public from recapturing an equitable portion of the economic benefits conferred to private interests, and significantly restrict San Francisco's ability to protect vulnerable communities from displacement and gentrification, unless further amended."  ( See full Resolution)

San Francisco Supervisors and Mayor need to hear from you
Where do you stand on SB 50?   Let them know before they vote.   If San Francisco Supervisors approve a resolution that opposes SB 50, it sends a very clear message to Senator Wiener.  He was elected to represent his constituents (SF and parts of Daly City) and yet again and again, he puts forth this and other bills that undermine the City and his constituents.

Here is a link to a map where you type in your address and it identifies if you are within SB 50's upzoning reach - sb50.org

Also, this weekend organizations across the city went door to door to pass out a postcard that informs residents on SB 50 and gives details on who to contact - below is the front and back of the postcard.
