States Member Spotlight

Department of Management Services
State of Florida
  • How long have you been in your position?
I've been Secretary for about 15 months but I've been with the agency since 2012.  I feel fortunate to have had a good understanding of the organization and our issues heading into the role of Secretary. One of the aspects I've enjoyed most is touting our accomplishments. We've got an incredibly talented team and I thoroughly enjoy telling that to anyone who will listen.

  • What is the best part about your job?
The variety! In Florida, our Department houses eight distinct business functions.  No two days are alike and there are new challenges and opportunities around every corner.

  • What was your first job where you recieved a W2/1099?
I had the pleasure of serving as a Student Programming Coordinator at my college alma mater upon graduating. We booked comedians, musicians and random ridiculous activities.  It was a blast.

  • What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Learn to surf, learn to play a musical instrument, and travel to every continent.
