"2-Day Mixed Media Workshop #2"

Join us for a fun weekend of Mixed Media creations! In this 2-day workshop we will focus on using the Gelli Plate to make lots of “painty” papers. We will then use some of those papers to make a small art journal, a person for the Upcycled Record Art, and your favorite print will be mounted to a 5x7 canvas panel to take home and frame!
Cost is only $85/person, and includes all art supplies (gelli plate, brayer, variety of paper, paint, aprons, brushes, stencils, mediums, 5x7 canvas panel, washi tape, adhesive, 12" record, decorative music paper), and step-by-step instruction!
FIRST - A Gelli Plate is a reusable gelatin-like surface on which paint is applied in order to pull a print on paper or fabric. We will be using various objects to create designs and visual texture in the paint prior to pulling the print on paper. Your first job is to make lots of "painty" papers! All materials provided (variety of paper, acrylic paint, watercolors, dye sprays, gelli plate, brayer, stamps, stencils, mark making tools).
Project #1 & #2 – Pick your favorite print and mount it to a 5x7 canvas panel. Set aside another print you like for Project #3. Then select 10-12 more prints and we’ll make a small art journal. All materials provided (canvas panel, gel medium, adhesive, washi tape).
Project #3 – We will be upcyling an old 12" record with a music theme of course! Think of a music themed quote or song lyrics that you like! All materials provided (record, decorative music paper, gel medium, acrylic paint).
