No fooling! We love our Habitat volunteers all year round but April has a week dedicated to recognizing volunteers across Canada. Each one brings a unique set of skills and interests to our organization as well as opinions and viewpoints, helping us to see things in a new way! We are proud to recognize their efforts and offer our sincere thanks for helping us create strength, stability and self-reliance in Oxford, Elgin, Middlesex and Perth counties. Please join us at the Western Fair District Agriplex April 12-14 to see our She Shed & He Shed and hear us announce the winners on Sunday afternoon.

Canada’s National Volunteer Week, which takes place this year from April 7 to April 13 is a time to celebrate and thank the 12.7 million volunteers across Canada that philanthropically contribute to the nation’s many causes.
The beautiful image of the hot air balloons of different sizes, shapes and colours reflects the diversity of community volunteers. It was sent to us from Volunteer Canada, and it illustrates that when people volunteer together, the sky is the limit!

From the Adelaide ReStore - London
With the year starting out, thoughts of change always come to mind, bringing new possibilities.
Our upgraded Windows & Doors section has made shopping much easier, especially for those in need of specific measurements.
|
|
Installation of new shelving and greater organization have improved our Hardware & Electrical section.
Shoppers can now find that one special item with ease.
Our freshly painted walls give the whole ReStore - at 317 Adelaide Street South - a new look and we would love to have you come in and say ‘Hi’ to the staff and volunteers.

With the help of volunteers and future homeowners, we are able to provide homes for low-income families across Middlesex, Elgin, Perth and Oxford counties. Whether they’re lending a hand on a local build site, supporting the operations of one of our six ReStores, or embarking on a Global Village trip, our volunteers are an integral part of our organization, helping us fulfill our vision of a world where everyone has a decent, affordable place to live.

This month we’re shining a spotlight on our invaluable Crew Leaders. Crew Leaders play a vital role in the Habitat construction process by training, mentoring and supervising
small groups of volunteers to perform construction tasks on site.
They commit to volunteering 3-4 days per month for at least 5 months and work closely with our Site Supervisors and Construction Manager to lead volunteers of all skill levels.
