The survey results on the question of .....:
Should there be a database available to us all of difficult customers / unpaying customers?
|
- This seems like a legally dangerous but warranted question. On the one hand it seems like a good idea, yet on the other you are persecuting them because of a one off incident. Then personal differences could enter the equation which in turn can be used as a duress or blackmail tactic. I hope to god that wouldnt be the case but there are too many problems that could arise. In some cases absolutely all businesses need to be protected and made aware of unscrupulous individuals and companies, but theres a fine line between FOI and trampling over a persons civil liberties and destroying their good name and reputation. (Daniel, D&S Signs & Graphics)
- YES! Obvious legal issues aside, there are many people that just use and abuse companies and just move on to the next when they need something else. (Shawn, Print to a T)
- That would be nice - if proof is supplied. (Marilize, IPG)
- Xero Accounting software has this feature.
- Yes.
- Good idea but is it practical, given the lawsuits that could follow.
- No, if you keep good accounting practices, it should not be necessary. Everybody should keep a records of good payers and bad payers. If you take on a bad payer or a difficult customer as a client for a big job, then you should get payment up front or refuse the job.
(As a publishing practice to protect ourselves from any potential liability, company and individual names that are referred to negatively in any of these comments are removed.
