In our parish, we pray for Kelly, Hanohano, Chris, Lola, Sylvia, Deedie, and for all who have contracted the Corona virus, those who are caregivers, and those who are seeking to develop a vaccine or measures of relief. We pray for those in Hawaii facing unemployment or under-employment.
We also pray for victims of violence around the world.
If you wish to add a name to the prayer list, please be in touch with Puna Coldwell in the parish office at hncparish@gmail.com
We are posting a day by day meditation from Forward Movement. This is a great way to start your day with prayer. Please consider clicking on the website above.
On Sunday, November 29, we conducted our first concurrent in-person + online service; a wonderful crew of volunteers supported our "launch." Members of the Donahue family lit the first candle of Advent and brought the first animals into the stable that eventually will make up our full Christmas creche. The tech team is busy making changes that will continue to help us improve the quality of our worship. if you have feedback, please let us know!
If you join us in person on Sunday mornings, please remember to keep a social distance of at least six feet; follow ushers' instructions and sit in marked areas in the pews. Participants may speak responses quietly into their masks, which will be required for safety. We will give instructions about receiving the Eucharist.
If you join us online, we hope that your experience will be just as good, if not better, than it has been prior to the installation of our new equipment!
CARROLL'S ISLAND CHRISTMAS TREES WITH PAUL
Our friend of many years, Paul Wright, sells one of his first Christmas trees to customers who appeared just minutes after he first set up his first few trees at Holy Nativity Parking last Friday. Coming from his home in Oregon for this annual event, which he does every year, Paul helps raise funds for Holy Nativity Church. Welcome, Paul!

WHO’S "ABOARD"?
HNS BOARD MEMBER
PATTY VAN KURAN!
Born and raised in Palo Alto, CA, Patty Van Kuran played soccer and volleyball growing up. She played varsity volleyball at Pomona College and she graduated cum laude. She was the third generation of her family to attend Pomona. The school’s career development office told her about a six-month internship in Hawaii and she took them up on it after graduating. Today she is still here and is Vice President & Private Banking Mortgage Loan Officer of First Hawaiian Bank. And she is on our Holy Nativity School Board and serves as Treasurer. Lucky for all of us, Patty says she loves budgets!
Ten-year old Georgia, Patty’s daughter, attends HNS and loves it. She is particularly devoted to the religion, art and computer programing classes. It’s because Patty and Georgia value HNS’ excellent program so highly that Patty decided to get involved and to contribute to our school’s continuing success. And she loves budgets!
Like Patty, Georgia enjoys gardening at their Aina Haina home, but Patty is always ready for something new, whether it is surfing, yoga or globe-trotting. She is happy to take off on another trip at the drop of a hat. Last Fall, during school break, she was one of four moms with four kids who journeyed to Thailand. They rode elephants and stayed at a floating camp.
And she loves budgets!
(With gratitude to our parish Treasurer, Jean Steele, for writing this article. She also loves budgets!)
