Welcome Our New Summer Intern Catie!

Catie graduated from East Carolina University this past May with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a concentration in marketing.
______

It's nearly summertime! To celebrate the season, we wanted to share what we're looking forward to most!

Barb -  I am looking forward to attending TAFA, the Humane Society of the United States' Taking Action for Animals, the leading conference for animal advocacy. TAFA brings together animal advocates from across the country for a shared goal: to better the lives of animals and  people alike. I hope to better understand the many issues facing animals and learn how to take more action in my community through lobbying, education and citizen advocacy.

Timmy -  Looking forward to my daughter's September wedding in Del Mar California!  Lots to do!!

Lisa -  I'm looking forward to taking my son to summer camp in Rhode Island! He will be spending three weeks at Roger Williams University in Bristol as part of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. I've never been to Rhode Island, so I'm excited to do a little bit of sightseeing at drop off and pick up!

Dana -  This summer I am looking forward to a beach trip with my family and our friends. I can't wait to see all our kids playing together in the sand. I feel like I was just that kid!

Karen B -  I'm most looking forward to our family vacation to the West Coast in late July.  First we are visiting cousins in the Portland, Oregon area then we're flying into San Francisco to drive down the CA coast. So far we have side trips to Alcatraz, Muir Woods, and the Hearst Castle in San Simeon planned. We will go down as far as LA and fly out of there. Hoping the drive and scenery is as spectacular as I remember!

Karen E -  I am so looking forward to go to the beach this summer. We're going to Fenwick this year and will be there over the Fourth of July which is always a good time. I can't wait to hang with family and friends on the beach and boat and sit on the deck with a cold drink in my hand and the sun on my face! Nothing better!

Sarah - I look forward to long weekends at the beach with my friends, family and fur-sister!

Brittany - I'm excited to go to the beach and take a trip with my family to California and Disney!

Catie -  I am most looking forward to spending time with my 4-year-old niece Addison this summer.  Since I have moved back to Maryland I am excited to be able to take her to the pool, get snowballs and have lots of fun summer adventures together!

June 2018

From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
As part of my resolution to practice gratitude and make it count, I've made a strong commitment to take action for the causes I care about. As an advocate, it's important to not only say I will do something, but also help to produce the results I want to see. Proactivity has always been in my blood, it's why I started my company and strive to make positive change for the
people - and animals - in my life . From advocating for women and children to lobbying for the Beagle Freedom Bill, volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and soon attending the Humane Society of the United States' Taking Action for Animals conference this summer, I've been on a continual journey to actively make a difference for those without a voice. There are things we can do every day that make living better for those around us. As the summer starts, please think how you can make a difference in this beautiful world of ours that needs so much back from us.
