Exmoor Dark Skies Festival 2018

Work is well underway for this year's festival which will run from 20th October to 4th November.

We already have a list of over 20 events being run by us and others. You may like to run an event or plan a themed overnight package to attract visitors. Contact Katrina 01398 322236 or [email protected] to discuss your ideas.

Advertise and reach new audiences

Our consumer marketing will start in the summer and 7500 copies of a printed Festival Programme will be distributed from August to October. Advertising in the programme starts at just £45. Click here for more details of costs and benefits.

Woodside Bridge Appeal

TV presenter / actress Caroline Quentin has added her support to the Woodside Bridge Appeal to provide a new crossing over the East Lyn River near Lynmouth. A new bridge would  enable people to enjoy the spectacular valley on short circular walks out of Lynmouth.

Watch the video and read more about the appeal here..

Application process to join the English National Park Experiences Collection now open

We are working with other English National Parks in planning unique, immersive visitor Experiences which standout in the global marketplace and tell the story of our landscapes, history and culture.

The English National Park Experience Collection is working with local businesses over the next 12 months to develop Experiences in our National Parks which have greater appeal to international audiences and which can be packaged together for development by and in close association with the inbound travel trade.

We need local experience providers and accommodation businesses to work with us. Successful applicants will benefit from intensive 1-2-1 business support to develop their products and make them travel trade ready before being marketed to the international travel trade.

Exmoor National Park Partnership Plan

Our new Partnership Plan for Exmoor National Park has now been launched. It's a Plan for everyone who cares about Exmoor: the place, its communities and the benefits the National Park provides to the nation.

There are strong ambitions for the economy and a thriving sustainable tourism offer alongside ambitions for access, wildlife, landscape, heritage and communities to name just a few.

The plan will be used by the National Park Authority and partner organisations to prioritise and co-ordinate actions over the next 5 years. You can download it (or request a hard copy) from our website here.

Promoting local food & tourism

eat Exmoor logo
Working with Visit Exmoor, we're continuing to support producers and encourage the use and celebration of local food.

Don't forget you can use our Eat Exmoor Local Producers Database to find new local suppliers for your business. Our food and drink marketing toolkit will help you add value and maximise the benefits to your business of utilising local products. You can access the toolkit and database here.

The Visit Exmoor website now features an Eat Exmoor section with recommendations for where to eat, where to find local produce and farmers markets, along with foodie events and experiences. There is also an on-line version of the Eat Exmoor Food & Drink Guide (PDF) which has been distributed all around the region. Further copies can be collected from our National Park Centres.

IMPORTANT ACTION!
We want to keep you in the loop
This newsletter was developed many years ago in response to business requests for enhanced communication on tourism matters.

If you have not added your self directly to the list, but been added by us (possibly when we first began, or having attended an event) then to comply with GDPR rules we will need you to re-register directly.

If this is you an email will be sent to you shortly which will require you to confirm your wish to carry on receiving these newsletters and keep up to date with the National Park. Non responses will sadly have to be removed from the mailing list.
