Thank You From The Pierce Family
Delone Catholic Students, Staff, and Families,

A simple thank you is not enough to express how much we appreciate all of the love and support our family has received and is continuing to receive since our house fire in March.  Thank you for the dress down day held to assist our family.  Thank you for the clothing, daily care items, gift cards, and financial gifts that we have received from each of you.  Thank you most especially for your prayers, kind words, and thoughts.  Your assistance and support have been greatly appreciated and so very helpful during a challenging time in our lives.  The Delone Catholic community is a wonderful community, and we are so blessed to be a part of this family.  Thank you and please know how much your ongoing support means to us!

Squire Strong!

Sincerely,
John, Terri, Jon, Hannah, and Nic Pierce

Mount St. Mary's University, Delone Catholic High School Enter Guaranteed Admissions Partnership
Delone Catholic High School has become the first high school in Pennsylvania to partner with Mount St. Mary's University on an admissions agreement guaranteeing the high school's graduates admission and a four-year renewable scholarship to the university.

"This partnership recognizes our shared goal to enhance access to high-quality values-based education at the high school and postsecondary levels," said Mount St. Mary's President Timothy E. Trainor, Ph.D. "This agreement is an ideal fit because both institutions have long histories of enrolling students who are looking to live significantly."

"This arrangement expands the many close ties that already exist between Delone Catholic and the Mount, as many of our graduates have elected to pursue post-secondary studies there," reflected Principal Richard La Rocca, S.T.L. "Our school also has benefited from working closely with teacher-interns and seminarians coming from the Mount for some time now."

Under the agreement, signed by Trainor and La Rocca, Delone Catholic students who meet defined requirements are guaranteed admission to MSMU. Students who meet the criteria will receive, at minimum, a $22,000 four-year award, with a total value of $88,000.

A Mount St. Mary's admissions representative will visit Delone Catholic as many as three times a year to share information about the Mount's academic programs and application, admissions, financial aid and related processes.

From the Spiritual Life Office
Newman Connection Program
As part of a Catholic high school, it is our hope that graduating students have gained a greater appreciation of and involvement in their faith, which has the potential to grow and strengthen in their college years. The Newman Connection program aims to help seniors transition to college by putting them in touch with the Campus Ministry of the college before they begin their school year. The process is very simple. All they need to do is complete the form at this link and submit it to the Spiritual Life Office. We will then send the information to the Newman Connection supervisors, who will get in touch with the college's Campus Ministry. This program has been proven very helpful in many other dioceses around the country and we look forward to you finding help through it as well!

Memorials for Baccalaureate
All seniors are invited to share names of their family members and friends who have died to be remembered in the back of the Baccalaureate program. Anyone whose names you would like to be remembered can be emailed to Mrs. Phenicie. Please include the person's full name, his/her relationship to the graduate, and (if known) whether or not he or she graduated from Delone Catholic. Thank you!

SportsLeader Virtue of the Week
One pillar of the SportsLeader program is a weekly virtue that we incorporate into our athletic practices and throughout our school community. Every week, we will share them here to encourage the students to take the virtue into their homes as well!

This week our  virtue  theme is COMPOSUREThe strength to be calm and in control of oneself in the midst of pressure.  COMPOSURE is necessary for everything in life. We need COMPOSURE-that presence of mind to act rightly and do things well.....on and off the field of play. When we practice the  virtue  of COMPOSURE we are able to deal with adversity positively and that is a rare ability.
