Dear Parents / Guardians, Students, Staff, and Friends of the Sanborn Regional High School Community. Here are your latest important announcements from Sanborn Regional High School:

Principal Brian Stack's Message To Parents on Prom Night
Prom Will Be Hled This Saturday at 6. Promenade Begins at 4:30.

Prom night is the night that every high school principal dreads. When I leave DiBurro's Function Hall on Saturday night at 11PM, I will be a miserable wreck until the next morning. Each year, on prom night, I pray that I won't get a call from a police officer letting me know that something tragic has happened to one of our students as a result of a poor decision made on prom night.

Parents, I urge you to make sure you know where your children are after they leave the prom venue. Call them. Call them again. Call the adults of the homes are staying at for the night. Call them again. Bother them all night long with calls and text messages. If you are hosting a post-prom event for your child and his or her friends, make sure you have checked in with each of the kids at your gathering to be sure that they have connected with their parents.

On prom night, we are all the parents for all of the children in our community. Let's all have a safe prom night.

On Saturday, May 12th, Sanborn Regional High School will hold its prom at DiBurro's Function Hall in Haverhill beginning at 6:00PM. Prior to that event, family and friends are invited to our promenade ceremony in front of our school at 4:30PM (students should report by 4). Please come out and see all of our students dressed up and ready to have a night to remember!

Thank you for taking the time to read my request.

Senior Spotlight : Skyla Shibel
An Article by Teacher Brian Gray

Skyla Shibel is a graduating senior this year from Sanborn. She is an impressive student in the classroom and is a multisport athlete playing soccer and basketball for the school.Skyla has achieved so much in the past four years in the classroom and on the athletic playing surfaces because of her hard work and dedication.

Skyla is a special student because of her ability to naturally lead and dedicate herself to what she is working on. She is best described as someone who is very goal oriented and is driven to meet her goals. This is evident in the classroom, as Skyla has really separated herself from her peers over the last four years, earning high marks in all of her honors level course work because of her hard work and diligent attention to detail. She will finish in the top 20% of her class and was recently recognized as a NH Scholar Athlete and a member of the NHBCO All Academic Team this past basketball season.  She is also active in her school community at a variety of events and was a member of our Life of a Student Club and Key Club. She was always someone you can count on at meetings to help get an initiative off the ground and make it successful. She is impressive in her classes and in the school community but has also been successful as an athlete.

Skyla was a defensive anchor for the girls soccer team this past fall and was also a captain. Fans could hear her vocally directing and leading her teammates from the back line of the Defense. Skyla is also a successful basketball player on the court and finished her career this past February with a record of 60 wins and 9 losses. She was a member and captain of 2 undefeated seasons as a Junior Varsity Player and a member and Senior Captain the last two years on Varsity that won 2 home playoff games and achieve program record win totals. Skyla has been playing with the program since sixth grade and has been a major major contributor to the success of our Sanborn Basketball Program.  Skyla proved to be a gifted player on the basketball court because of her ability to adapt to situations and make her teammates better. She is the type of player that can play multiple positions and really step up during big moments on the court. She was selected as a Captain this year because of her ability to to be seen by her peers as a leader even when she was an underclassman. She is a compassionate teammate and is a determined competitor. She constantly pushes herself to be a better player and demonstrates mental toughness through challenges and adversity. She is the type of person that can move mountains when she is determined to accomplish a goal.

Skyla plans to attend college after graduation this spring and has already been accepted to many institutions. She has always had a passion for sciences and plans to follow that passion in college by preparing for a career as a dermatologist. Skyla has definitely made the most of her time here at Sanborn and we look forward to hearing about all the accomplishments she will accrue in the future.
Senior Spotlight : Jake Siezckowski
An Article by Teacher Jack Kelly
The addition of Mr. Krzyzanskowski to our  Sanborn Administrative team this year accomplished two things:  1: injected youthful enthusiasm to our administration staff, 2) settled a long running dispute over the last name at Sanborn that I mangle the most:  Mr. Krzyzanskowski is now the runaway leader. The previous candidates were Jake Siezckowski and Evan Czyzowski, though for shear number of mispronunciations, I have probably stumbled over Jake's name the most.  Jake just shrugs and says in a good natured manner, "Whatever".
That's because I have been privileged to work with Jake in 2 classes, plus I see him in Advisory. Jake is a dedicated student, serious but not too serious. He is mechanically inclined and likes demonstrating his competence.  He has an artistic bent and has made some remarkable projects in both metal and woodshop. His Tig Welding is particularly impressive.
Jake is committed to joining the US Marine Corps.  He has always been interested in the military and his service was inspired by the sacrifice of a cousin, an Army serviceman who was lost during an insurgent attack in the Persian Gulf. Jake will report to Parris Island for Marine Corps Recruit training in September.
Jake has a playful sense of humor and odd ways of spending his weekends.  Most kids work or chill outside of school, Jake recently spent a weekend at Fort Devens, getting screamed at by Marine Drill Instructors with very loud voices, while exercising strenuously.  While others are playing Fortnite, he is living it. Jake is making his dreams come true and Sanborn will miss him.
Senior Spotlight : Bijal Patel
An Article by Teacher Nicole St. Jean

Bijal Patel is one of the most kind hearted people I've had the pleasure of getting to know here at Sanborn.  Not only is she kind, she is compassionate, respectful, and has an incredible amount of integrity. I have had the pleasure of having Bijal as a student this year in Senior English. She worked very hard on writing a college essay for our first unit.  She used anecdotes to show how she plans to rise above expectations and achieve her goals. She continues to consistently put forth her best effort on all assignments. Her presence at Sanborn is felt throughout the school. Many teachers speak of highly of her and have enjoyed having her in class and in school clubs. Lauren Petraitis states, "
Bijal is a very creative young woman with a mind full of stories. She loved anything fiction-based in her Junior English class, and she always took her work seriously. I really enjoyed having her in class to participate and share personal anecdotes that connected with what we were reading. "  Dr. Young says, " Bijal was in my 9th grade algebra class, where she was such a nice student to interact with daily. I still often see her around the school, where we get to have nice chats. She is such a friendly, respectful person to know that I am bummed that we don't have any classes together."

Aside from being an active student in class, she participates in clubs at Sanborn.  She is in Book Club and enjoys reading realistic fiction novels. She has been in Key Club since she was a freshmen.  Michelle Wheeler, the Key Club advisor says, " Bijal has been a active Key Club member throughout her tenure at Sanborn. She gives of herself without hesitations and beats to her own drum for the betterment of all. She is one of the MOST reliable people I have ever met. Currently she is running her household so her family can run their business and is still helping out with Key Club in her free time. Plus she is sweet."

Bijal speaks very highly of her time at Sanborn.  She loves that she can get the help when she needs it and that many of her teachers lend support with academic and social/emotional needs.  Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her friends and helping out her parents and the store they own. From helping her family business, she has learned many valuable skills, such as customer service, managing money, and multitasking.

Bijal plans to study nursing.  She has been accepted to SNHU, Dean College, New England College, and Franklin Pierce.  No matter which school she attends, I am most confident that Bijal will succeed in her life after high school.  I can't wait to hear about the many patients she helps!
Dress For Success
A Message From Principal Brian M. Stack

Students at Sanborn Regional High School are expected to dress in an appropriate manner during the school day. We use the expression, "Dress for Success!"

Here are some things that students should keep in mind when selecting clothing for school:
  • DRESS FOR SAFETY: Students are expected to follow all school rules governing safety in specialized programs that may require the wearing of protective clothing, safety glasses, proper foot protection, or other similar requirements. This includes areas such as the shop, the gym, and other specialized programs.
  • DRESS WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY: Through their choice of dress, students must display respect for themselves, their school, and their community. The wearing of clothing which is unduly revealing or attire which detracts in any way from the educational mission of the school is unacceptable.
  • AVOID THIS KIND OF DRESS: Clothing that promotes drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or violence is unacceptable. Clothing should not be offensive, nor should it include vulgar pictures or words.
  • HATS ARE OK: The wearing of hats is permitted only in the hallways, cafeteria, and other non-instructional spaces in the school. They are not permitted in classrooms.
Our staff reserves the right to ask students to change any attire that does not meet our "Dress for Success" requirements. We also reserve the right to send home any student who is dressed in an unduly offensive or inappropriate manner which disrupts the educational process.

Thank you for taking these points into consideration.

Dear Seniors,
It is hard to believe your time at Sanborn is almost over! This is an exciting time of year with many events and activities culminating with graduation set for Friday, June 15, 2018 . Congratulations to all seniors on your many accomplishments.
If weather permits, we will hold graduation on the library lawn. In the event of poor weather, we may have to hold graduation in the gymnasium. Due to fire code regulations, we may not be able to accommodate all requests for additional tickets. You are encouraged to ask your classmates if they have extra tickets they could give you if you need more than eight.

The following is a list of senior activities for the remainder of the school year.
