As I pen this Play by Play intro, I'm enjoying the view of rainfall outside of my office window, which is always a pleasant sight in this part of the world. This rain is also a great segway into the weekend and out of our busiest 7 month stretch that we have ever had in our 31 years in the business. What started in August of last year, has been an almost non-stop run of hunting and wildlife management activities that have seen few pauses during that period of time. I'm absolutely thankful for the active pace of the business activity and for the incredible support from our clients, but I'll admit that I'm looking forward to a bit slower schedule over the next 3 months.
Our clients have taken many nice animals over the last several weeks. We wrapped up our spring turkey hunts in very good fashion with great success rates and a harvest that included lots of 3 and 4 year old birds. Also, as you'll see in the accompanying photos, we have been taking some great quality animals with our exotic game hunts.
We continue to push our guides to capture quality field photos and we work through ongoing training efforts in techniques that help ensure quality and respectful images of harvested game, so I hope that you will enjoy the fruits of those efforts as you peruse this Play by Play. Indeed, with the number of hunters that we have coming through our camps, combined with the number of guides that are part of our support team, we will always have some degree of variability on photo quality, but we will continue to make a push to "get it right," and anything short of that does not reflect well on the hunting community, regardless of the source of photos.
Fall bookings have been brisk. We still have plenty availability on some hunts, but limited in other areas. Please check in with us if you'd like to inquire on hunts of a particular interest.
Cheers,
