A weekly newsletter to keep you informed about EVERYTHING Turf at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
Even though we are only in April this year has had some crazy weather patterns! This week we take a look into them and what effect they have had at the Maryland SoccerPlex!
Let's get historical
In the Mid-Atlantic region this year we have had the craziest weather patterns! Our Director of Grounds, Ryan Bjorn dug up some history to clue you guys in on just how crazy and different this year has been compared to past years. As you can see from the chart, we have had a very cold winter and early spring. In addition to the extreme cold, the rainfall total is low as well. In 2016 from January 1 - April 10 we had 6.77 inches of rain. In 2017 we had 6.32, and this year we have only had 5.04. Though it may not seem like much of a difference, dryer conditions make it harder for the grass to begin to grow.
