A Message from ORES Principal Denise Francisco
The Third Quarter Grading Period has now ended, and we are excited to kick off the 4th Quarter! This week grades are being finalized and uploaded to report cards that will be sent home on Tuesday, April 9th. Students will have Honor Roll and Super Colts Ceremonies in their classrooms on Wednesday, April 10th. These informal ceremonies celebrate the successes our students achieve each quarter. The certificates they receive should come home with the students on April 10th.

This week 5th Grade parents are asked to come to a 5th Grade Parent Meeting for Camp Hanes on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the Gym. On Thursday evening our Colts Chorale will perform along with select 4th grade students and all families are invited to attend this performance in the gym. Also, on Thursday all students will take Spring Pictures. All students will be photographed and then parents will be able to purchase pictures if they would like to.

This Friday, April 5th marks the one-year anniversary of Conner Crossan’s passing. Our entire school community will be honoring Conner this week and especially this Friday. Members of the school community are asking others to "Remember Conner", to celebrate, and to honor him by taking pictures in a place that was special to Conner and then sharing the pictures with the Crossan family via social media (see more information below in the Newsletter). The PTO along with the Summit Church are putting together a staff breakfast in honor of Conner on Friday morning and our staff will be participating in taking pictures and sharing our love with the Crossan family.  Anyone can participate in sharing some love #BecauseOfConner and we hope many will experience Conner's memory on this special day.

Finally, this week we want to celebrate Isabella Villano who attended the State Science Fair on Saturday, March 30th! Congratulations – we are very proud of you. Also, we want to wish our Odyssey of the Mind team the best of luck as they travel to the State Competition this coming Saturday, April 6th at ECU. We know they are going to compete well and have a lot of fun!

Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Francisco

#BecauseOfConner
April 5th will be the 1 year anniversary of Conner's passing. Will you please participate in an activity this week or next, to "Remember Conner", to celebrate, and to honor him?

Please see this flyer for info and ideas. Pass it along to friends, family, anyone who knew or loved Conner, or loves the Crossans. Maybe you didn't even know Conner yourself, but you just want to show some love to a great area organization because of a little boy. Anyone can participate in Sharing some love #BecauseOfConner.

A simple act of caring, creates an endless ripple. As these ripples reach out into the community and to cover Casey and Bryan, we hope so many will experience Conner's memory living on, and his precious life still creating a positive impact in the world. Thanks so much for Remembering Conner.

VOLUNTEER TODAY for the PTO!
There are so many ways to help with PTO, but if you are looking for a wonderful opportunity to enrich your children’s education, here is your chance! Please consider stepping up for this very important role!

PRESIDENT OF THE PTO! This job includes monthly meetings, serving on the School Based Leadership Team, supporting PTO Board members and their committees, running the Cash for Colts fundraising campaign, liaising with school administrators, helping to plan the PTO budget, serving as a point person for committee Chairs and event planners to make sure that the year runs smoothly and more! The outgoing President is committed to working with the new President to help them in their first year – especially in August-October, which is the busiest time of the year. This is a job that sounds daunting, and is a lot of work, but it is exceptionally rewarding and the 2019-2020 President will be supported but an outstanding PTO Board that is incoming and already in place!

Interested or with additional questions, email us at orespto@gmail.com today!
