Call for Solano County Projects for Plan Bay Area 2050
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)/the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) has requested that the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) and other Bay Area County Transportation Agencies issue a Call for Projects for Plan Bay Area 2050, a long range transportation plan that forecasts future transportation needs and provides eligibility for future state and federal transportation funds. The deadline for STA to submit Solano County transportation projects to MTC/ABAG is the end of June 2019. STA will be scheduling a public event on May 8, 2019 to review and receive public input on the list of transportation projects to be submitted to MTC/ABAG.

STA Partners with Solano County Area Agency on Aging to Provide Medical Trips
On March 13, the STA Board approved a partnership with the Solano County Area Agency on Aging, NorthBay HealthCare, Sutter Health, Kaiser Permanente, the Community Clinics, and Partnership Health Plan to fund a Solano Older Adult Medical Trips 24/7 Concierge Call Center Pilot Program. The Pilot program uses GoGoGrandparent to provide rides to and from medical appointments for low-income Medicare ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients. Visit

May is National Bike Month!
May is National Bike Month, and STA is again encouraging Solano County residents to get active and ride their bikes. To kick off Bike Month, STA’s Solano Mobility and Safe Routes to School (SR2S) Programs will be at the Fairfield Farmer’s Market on Thursday, May 3rd from 3-7pm, and in partnership with Lyft, Ford GoBike will be on hand to demo their bike sharing program. Annual Poster Contest (deadline for entries is April 12). The 25
th
Annual Bike to Work Day is on Thursday, May 9, and Solano Mobility will be staffing local energizer stations with swag bags and refreshments. Additional community bike rides are scheduled throughout Solano County during Bike Month. For more information on all Bike Month events please visit

Solano Mobility Employer Outreach Program Hosts #CommuteConvos
Solano Mobility Employer Outreach Specialists have been hosting community #CommuteConvos events, which can be seen live on the Solano Mobility Facebook page. In addition to promoting the new $20 Amtrak + Lyft Pilot Program, staff is also speaking with commuters about using alternative modes of transportation to travel to, from, and through Solano County. Caltrans to Advance State Route 29 SHOPP Project in Solano County
The STA Board is requesting the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) advance the rehabilitation of State Route (SR) 29 within the State Highway Operations and Protection Program (SHOPP). The current list of Solano County SHOPP projects consist of 14 projects totaling an estimated amount of $300M.

Solano County Intercity Taxi Card Update
The Solano County Intercity Taxi (ITX) Card program continues to expand Countywide. Coach-Air has been added as a service provider in the ITX Card program and will provide non-ambulatory Americans Disability Act (ADA) certified riders with service to and from the Travis Air Force Base. The program is currently available in the Cities of Benicia, Dixon, Rio Vista, and Vallejo. Future expansion of the ITX Card program includes the City of Fairfield (late April of 2019) and the City of Vacaville (late July of 2019).

STA Launches Newly Redesigned Website
STA recently launched the new and improved STA website. This newly designed website features a clean and simplified look along with user friendly navigation bars. The STA website aims to improve the overall user experience. This desktop and mobile-friendly website will allow users to easily access information about STA’s current projects, programs, and plans for future transportation improvements.
