Here's what is happening in Church School this Sunday, May 6th, and in the busy weeks ahead:
Preschool I and II
One of Jesus's disciples asked him, "What is the most important rule of all?" What was Jesus's answer? What does he say is the second rule? Preschool students discuss how we love God and love our neighbors.
PreKindergarten
Jesus sent his disciples out to be ministers and spread His good news around the world. PreKindergarten students discuss how they can be followers of Jesus.
Kindergarten
How do we share the love of God? Kindergarten student will make pins to hand out to all Church School students during Chapel. The more pins they make, the more they can share God's love.
First Grade
First grade students learn about Saul, who didn't like Christianity and was mean to those trying to spread the word of Jesus. Saul had an experience that changed his life. What happened? Who does Saul become?
Second Grade
One of the last stories in the Old Testament is about Jonah. God asked Jonah to go to Ninevah to warn the people there that God knew they were behaving badly. Jonah doesn't want to follow God's directions and he tries to escape. What happens to him?
Third Grade
It's Moving Up Day for the third grade. Learn what Church School will be like next year by participating in the fourth and fifth grade outreach project. Following chapel, all third grade students should go to the fourth/fifth grade classroom.
Fourth and Fifth Grades
Fourth and fifth grades have their last outreach project of the year.
After chapel, fourth grade students should report to the fourth/fifth grade classroom where they will be joined by the third grade for Moving Up Day. Third and fourth grade students will put together Mother's Day gift bags for the moms at Almost Home, a transitional home for young mothers.
It's Moving Up Day for the fifth grade. Students from CSMSG's Youth Ministry will "kidnap" fifth grade students for a special treat and to show them what to expect as middle school students next year. Following chapel, fifth grade students should report to the third grade classroom where they will decorate backpacks for CSMSG missioners to take to students in Managua, Nicaragua.
While the fifth grade students enjoy their treat, their parents are invited to learn more about Youth Ministry by joining Marty Chapman, Youth Ministry Coordinator, in the classroom under the stairs from 10:30 to 11am.
