Superintendent Search Update

In our newsletter last week, we described the process by which Leadership Associates, the executive search firm chosen by the Board of Education, will conduct the search for a new superintendent for AUSD. This past week has been focused primarily on community engagement - via stakeholder meetings, community forums, and an online survey. For more detailed information about this process, please see today's community bulletin and our Superintendent Search page .
Three Surveys!

Want to give your feedback on AUSD matters? We have three surveys available that we would love for you to take! Each focuses on a different topic, and each should take five to ten  minutes to complete.

Superintendent Search Survey (to tell us what qualities you think the next superintendent should have)

Communications Survey (to let us know what kind of communication tools you'd like us to use)

California School Parent Survey  (to help the state gain insights on the school(s) your student(s) attend).
Negotiations Update

AUSD and the  Alameda  Education Association (which represents teachers, counselors, nurses, and speech and language pathologists) opened negotiations on a successor agreement two weeks ago. They met for their second round of negotiations yesterday, March 28.  This session focused on the district's current budget and a preliminary conversation about a common bell schedule for elementary schools.  The parties will meet again on April 11.
