A Word from the Staff

We all know that tax day is April 15 th. Well, not this year. It is actually today, April 17 th. The IRS has given you a few extra days to settle your account. Sometimes people try to get out of paying phone bills and gas bills; they even try to get out of paying car loans and rent payments. But when it comes to the IRS you better not mess around. They take our debt very seriously; and they have the power to make you pay.

God takes our sin debt very seriously as well; and you had better believe that He has the power to make us pay. At some point every soul has a day of reckoning with God. It could be today, or He may grant you a few extra days. But make no mistake the day of reckoning comes to all. Our sin debt must be paid in full.

I am reminded of the old gospel song, "The Old Account was Settled".

There was a time on earth when in the book of Heav'n
An old account was standing for sins yet unforgiv'n;
My name was at the top, and many things below-
I went unto the Keeper, and settled long ago.

The old account was large, and growing every day,
For I was always sinning, and never tried to pay;
But when I looked ahead, and saw such pain and woe,
I said that I would settle-I settled long ago.

Long ago, long ago,
Yes, the old account was settled long ago;
And the record's clear today, for He washed my sins away,
When the old account was settled long ago.

Thank God my sin debt was paid in full the day I accepted Jesus as my Savior! Are you sure that your account with God has been settled?
