Hi   ,

We have had an amazing March!  Congratulations to all of our newly recognized Class of 2022 cadets!  Life has just become that much sweeter for you!  We are so proud of your accomplishments!

For those of you who missed the Webguy pics, our inaugural  Colorado Night  on March 21st was a huge success!  Our cadets were thrilled to have their own night of fun, and many remarked that this state night was better than other state nights they have attended in the past!  I think the only ones disappointed were our firsties...and that was just because this was the only Colorado Night they will have during their USAFA years.  As always, our volunteers were amazing!  We have the best parents and it is always our sincere pleasure and honor to serve our cadets side by side with each of you. We had 63 volunteers help pull off this event, with 54 helping the day of the event.  There are so many people to thank...but our biggest thanks must go to Jim and Nathalie Flannery for spearheading this massive effort.  They couldn't have done it without all of our volunteers, but I know for sure that this event wouldn't have been what it was without them.  Thank you Jim and Nathalie!  We also want to shout out to their core committee of volunteers:  Michelle Vikupitz (who single handedly filled half of our prize tables with donations she collected!), Robin Weiss, Kathy Puseman, and Jennifer Hermann. Be sure to check out the photos taken by our CPC photographer, Joe Bajek, and WebGuy that can be found on our website (usafacpc.org).

Here are a few fun facts from this event:
  • 63 total volunteers, 54 volunteers the day of the event

Even though our academic year is almost over, the fun continues with our  End of Year Celebration on Sunday, 7 April 2019, 4-6  at the Blue and Silver Club in the Falcon Stadium Press Box. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate an amazing year for all cadets, and to recognize those soon to graduate and embark on their Air Force Careers.  See the link below to RSVP before the deadline of 3/31!

We also have our Spring General Membership Meeting on 4/28/19.  We will be meeting in Arnold Hall, so you'll be able to invite your cadet to join us for pizza after the meeting. Plan to attend so we can put several key issues to general membership vote!

June brings two more events...the  New Appointee Luncheon and our  I-day Picnic - many volunteers are still needed for key areas.  We highly encourage Class of 2022 families to volunteer, as  the New Appointee Luncheon and I-day are still fresh in your minds!  Please   contact or PR and Event Coordinators,  Jim and Nathalie Flannery to see how we can best utilize your time and talents.  One of our most pressing needs is a volunteer to assemble the binders that we will give each CO appointee at the New Appointee Luncheon.

Again, it's our honor to be part of this club and we look forward to finishing this academic year strong!

Get to Know Your CPC Board & Committee Chairs

Each month we will be introducing a new board or committee member, so our general membership can get to know the team that is working hard behind the scenes.  This month, meet a few members of our Colorado Night Committee,
Robin Weiss ('20) and Kathy Puseman ('22)

Above:  Colorado Night Committee Members Robin Weiss and Kathy Puseman

Kathy is married to Paul Puseman, and they live in Bailey, Colorado. Their youngest son, Andrew, is a 2022 Cadet in Squadron 35. Their oldest son, Jarrod, is a Junior studying Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science at CU Boulder. As a family, they enjoy white-water rafting, camping, and riding dirt bikes. Kathy is an archaeobotanist who owns her own company (Paleoscapes Archaeobotanical Services Team, LLC) where she looks at macrofloral remains (seeds and charcoal/wood) from archaeological sites. She is the church Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, Committee Chair for BSA Troop 238, Secretary for Platte Canyon's School Accountability Committee, and Treasurer for the Mountain Toastmasters club in Evergreen. Kathy also enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and crossword puzzles.

Robin is married to Ed and they are the proud parents of Andrew and Jennifer. Robin is originally from Miami, Florida, but now calls Colorado Springs home.  Their son, Andrew, is an IC swimmer and a Class of 2020 cadet at USAFA in Squadron 2.  They also have a daughter, Jennifer, who is a 2nd grade teacher in Arizona, but who will be moving back to Colorado in June. In her free time, Robin likes to travel, spend time with her kids, hike, and ski.  But her favorite thing to do is cook.

Next month...meet your End of Year Celebration Committee Members:
Joe Bajek ('21) and Roberta Tucker ('19)

Spring Finals Goodie Bags

As most of you know, our primary fundraiser (which funds the annual I-day picnic) is our Goodie Bag program.
As a benefit of CPC membership, your cadet will receive a Spring Finals Goodie Bag.

Consider ordering for cadets you sponsor, your cadet's roommate, or simply purchase an extra that can be donated to those cadets (identified by their AOC's) who need a little pick-me-up.  The order deadline for Spring Finals Goodie Bag Orders is Tuesday, April 30th.

Our Goodie Bag Coordinator, Donna Bajek, runs a very well organized program, but it is a major undertaking which requires a lot of behind the scenes help. We need volunteers to help us assemble the Goodie Bags prior to each delivery.  Consider helping assemble the Spring Final's Goodie Bags on Sunday, May 5th, in the Cadet Field House.  It's a great way to get to know your fellow CPC members AND give back to our cadets! Times and duties can be found in the link below:

Class of 2019 Information

Several businesses and vendors have reached out to us about items they sell for the graduating USAFA class.  We are sharing this information as it becomes available.  Keep in mind that CPC does not have any type of business relationship with any of these companies.  We are simply passing along information that is shared with us.

This month, we have information regarding Bremont watches (shared via the AOG with our club) and graduation banners...a special offer from a local company that donated their services to our Colorado Night.

Any items sold by USAFA Parent Clubs can be found in the USAFA Parent Liaison section below, as that is forwarded to us directly by Marie Nikovits.
