This year's Rose Sunday Concert is Sunday, March 31, 4 PM followed by a reception in Tyler Hall and the Celtic Service at 5:30 PM. Our organist, Keith Shafer, will play music of Bach, Mozart, Franck, and will conclude with a performance of "Phoenix," by William Bates, an organ work commissioned in 2016 "for Saint Paul's Church, Augusta, Georgia, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the recovery from the devastating fire of March 22, 1916." 100 years ago this month Saint Paul's Church was preparing to open the present building and "Phoenix" commemorates these significant events in the life of the parish.
The Daughters of the King will host Refreshments and Conversation following the 11 AM service this Sunday at the Lemonade on the Lawn.

Who are Daughters of the King?
We are an international prayer and service order in the Episcopal Church. As a community of women, we promise to pray, work, and support the spread of God's Kingdom here on earth remembering that prayer is always the foundation from which our service grows. Currently, the Saint Ruth Byllesby Chapter provides the following prayer based ministries at Saint Paul's with more to come:
  • Confidential Prayer Requests for Daily Prayer that can either be submitted via prayer cards from the pews or through the Saint Paul's Website.
  • The College Student Ministry - Supporting college students of the parish through personal contact and daily prayer as they transition from their homes to life away from most of what they know.
  • The Advent Prayer Tree.
  •  Quiet Days for Prayer and Meditation & Guided Labyrinth Walks.
  • Spring Bra Drive for "Free the Girls," an international ministry for women recovering from lives in human trafficking, to provide bras that are used to support their financial independence and enhance women's chances of recovery from of this oppressive life in developing countries.
  • A Lenten Christian Formation Series "Bible Women" to stimulate discussions and scriptural reflections on the voices of women and what they had to say in the Bible.
Want to know more? The St. Ruth Byllesby Chapter at Saint Paul's will hold discernment classes for new members from May - July. Daughters will be available on March 31st

CHILDREN

WEAVING GOD'S PROMISES -- Ages 8-11 or Grades 3 - 5
Leader: Coleman Graham and company
Location: Blue Room, Children's Ministries Center

Our bigger children will immerse themselves in an Episcopal formation experience rooted in the stories of our faith as presented in Matthew's Gospel. In this first of a three-year cycle, our children encounter the story of our salvation from the fall to our redemption and how we fit into the story. Our theme in this curriculum year is "God loves us and stays with us-no matter what." Every session incorporates theology and history from our Episcopal-Anglican perspective. Questions??? Contact Coleman Graham or Fr. John.
GODLY PLAY -- 4s to 8, Kindergarten thru 2nd grade
Leaders: Kim Butler & Ivey Coleman
Location: Godly Play Room, Children's Ministry Center

We take children and their relationship with God seriously and seek to provide both space to foster encounters with God and the language necessary to make meaning of those experiences. Within the Godly Play classroom, the Biblical narrative is lovingly presented to children using beautiful materials with an invitation to step into each story with awe and wonder. Children are then allowed time to respond to and reflect on their experience of the story.

Take a Parent Page from the table so you can talk your child about "their work" and wonder with them throughout the week about the sacred story. Questions??? Contact Kim Butler, Ivey Coleman, or Fr. John
