TTouch Instructor Lucie Leclerc
Rupert, QC - Rupert Community Centre (Youth Welfare Association of Rupert - YWAR), 32 Shouldice Rd, Rupert, QC. Rupert is a small crossroads "village" just outside Wakefield, QC. The YWAR has large indoor space which allows for the possibility of separating animals - e.g. cats or difficult dogs. There is an enclosed outdoor area (solid 4' high skating rink fence) suitable for allowing dogs off-leash, and many places to walk dogs. There are kitchen and toilet facilities. Freezer space may be available for dog food.
What to expect:
The session will be a mix of philosophy/concepts of the TTouch method with theory, demos and practice. While learning different ways of touching and working with animals, we will look from different and perhaps unusual perspectives at how dogs behave and move.
Some of the topics to be included are:
How to detect areas of tension in the body and in movement.
How to notice changes in movement that indicate softening of some of the tension.
How to discover and unravel the sequence of actions, specific to each dog, that leads to potential reaction.
Tools to help animals interact with their environment and/or other animals in more useful ways.
How to help clients help their dogs be successful at behaving differently.
How to use the concepts, methods and tools of TTouch to support the health of animals.
