Kippy Carlson has been a Habitat Snohomish volunteer for nearly two years. She primarily volunteers in The Habitat Stores, however, she’s also helped with hosting information tables at various events.
Kippy began volunteering in the Everett Habitat Store and moved to the Smokey Point location to help with the construction and opening the store. Now she volunteers regularly at Smokey Point.
Kippy ensures our store provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers. She excels at customer service, selling our products, managing the cash register, staging inventory and answering customer questions.
“Everything Kippy stages in our store sells within a couple of days and in some cases, minutes!” Habitat Store Manager Kelli Henderson said. “She also does a fantastic job of informing our customers about why The Habitat Store exists and the work our organization accomplishes in the community; she knows how to make customers feel good about their purchase.”
In addition to her sales skills, Kippy is a dedicated volunteer. She’s always willing to take extra shifts when we have fewer volunteers or one of our managers is on vacation. Kippy trains other volunteers and is ready to help wherever she’s needed. She’s never late for her shifts and, if she can’t make it for her regular shift, she gives plenty of notice.
“We really appreciate all of the time and effort Kippy has put into this store,” Kelli Henderson said. “She’s played a huge part in getting the Smokey Point Habitat Store up and running and we are so grateful to her.”
