Community Breakfast 2019   
9th Year for College of Business Administration to host event
 
The Texas A&M University-Kingsville College of Business Administration, the Kleberg Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce joined hands to host the ninth annual community breakfast and presentation. Our Keynote speaker, Chris Furlow, President and CEO of the Texas Bankers Association did an incredible job of sharing an overall picture of the banking industry- strategic transformation in regulations, technology, risk and talent. 
 
Many thanks to IBC Bank-Zapata for their continued support of this community event geared towards providing an additional dimension to fiscal awareness and responsibility to students and residents of Kingsville and the surrounding communities. Thank you to all who attended and made this event a success!

Javelina Marketing Association
Students use creativity for fundraising  
 
Javelina Marketing Association (JMA) is the student organization for any undergraduate or graduate TAMUK student who wants to learn more about Marketing.  
The organization is focused on professional development, community service and fundraising as well hosting marketing speakers, etiquette workshops and more.  
 
The organization held a very successful and popular fundraiser earlier this semester for Valentine's Day. Recognizing that many folks in the CBA didn't have the time to go out and shop for presents for their special someone, they decided to bring the presents to them. Raising over $100, JMA members sold a number of different gift packages that included stuffed animals and small boxes of candy already wrapped in gift bags to students, faculty, and staff alike.  Proceeds from the sale will be used toward professional development opportunities.  
 

Alpha Lambda Delta Ceremony 
National Honor Society for First-Year Students 
 
Six College of Business Administration students were inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society for First-Year Students on March 4 in the Memorial Student Union Ballroom.   
 
The mission of Alpha Lambda Delta is to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.   
 
Students honored were, Melissa G. Barrera (Management), Macy J. Berg (Marketing), Kason A. Franklin (Marketing), Alyssa M. Garza (Accounting), Steven M. Nevarez (Marketing) and Bethany R. Vasquez (Accounting). 

South Central LEAD Provincial Conference
Delta Sigs attend leadership training
   
Members of Delta Sigma Pi spent their spring break attending the South Central LEAD Prov incial Conference and Council Meeting in Baton Rouge from March 8 - 10.  
 
LEAD Provincial Conferences are full weekend events for leadership training.  It includes panels, discussions, and breakout sessions on topics of relevance to leadership development, personal success, and chapter operations.
