Revisions in two university policies: final reading to happen in Dec. 7 Council Meeting

The Professional and Scientific Council will hold a final reading for revisions of two existing university policies at its December 7 meeting. Under review is language pertaining to the Catastrophic Illness or Injury and Sexual Misconduct policies. First readings of the revisions were introduced at the council's November 1 meeting.

Aaron Fultz, Policies and Procedures Committee Chair
Changes in the Catastrophic Illness or Injury policy is to change the name to Donated Leave for Catastrophic Illness or Injury and to broaden the policy's eligibility requirements to allow donated leave for employees who have immediate family members with a catastrophic illness or injury in addition to the employees themselves.

Changes in the Sexual Misconduct Policy also call for an expansion of the policy name and to update and clarify reporting procedures and resources for responding to incidents.

The Council's Policies and Procedures Committee has recommended adopting the draft changes.

More details can be found in the November 2 issue of Inside Iowa State.
