May in Truro...
This month we pick up 72 minutes of additional daylight, enough to bring temperatures up almost 10 degrees from April.
According to past records, we are told to expect an average temperature to 54°F, with average lows of 46°F and highs of 63°F. We traditionally get a total of 3.6 inches of rain. It's Spring, so with temperatures rising above 50°F plus the rain warming the soil, plant growth starts to accelerate.

Truro Historical Society
The Board of Directors of the Truro Historical Society wishes to thank the voters of Truro for approving unanimously Section 3 of Article 11 Community Preservation Act funding for the next phase of the renovation of the Highland House Museum. It is heartwarming to know that the people of Truro understand the importance of preserving the Highland House as Truro's Museum.
The Truro Historical Society, which manages the Highland House Museum and the Cobb Archive, works year-round to honor and preserve the history of Truro and the Outer Cape. We are a non-profit organization (separate from the Truro Historical Commission, which is part of Truro Town Government;) and we depend on the generosity of our members, donors, and business sponsors to carry out our mission.
May is Truro Historical Society Membership Month, and we hope you will take this opportunity to join our organization. Membership includes unlimited visits to the Highland House Museum, private tours conducted by Truro Historical Society Board members, and the opportunity to host your own event at the Museum. Most importantly, your tax-deductible membership helps us to continue to create exhibitions, lectures, and events that celebrate our rich and continually changing history!
